Installation procedure;1. Attach the connectors from the spike to the wire from the head of the unit. Connect the small black connector of the spike on to the other connector on the wires coming out of the top section. Gently feed this and the wires down into the spike section and secure head to spike section.2.  Insert the spike into the ground paying attention not to damage the unit. The spike should be firmly planted while leaving the base of the head 1-2” above the ground. We suggest use a crowbar to first make a small hole and gently push the spike in or dig a small hole and backfill with earth after the unit is in place. Do not use a mallet, hammer or excessive force as this may damage the unit. Be careful not to break the plastic tip. 3. After press the switch ON/OFF, you can tell the unit is operating, as it makes a “Buzz’ sound as it transmits its signal, normally if you stand quietly close to the unit you should hear this, if for any reason you have a “noisy one” build up some garden mulch around the unit taking care to leave the solar panel exposed – this will normally quieten it considerably. Sometimes the unit may need a short time in the sun to give a boost and start up, when first installed.

Junk. Batteries dead on arrival and won’t charge. To replace existing battery involves unsoldering the ends and soldering the wires back on a new battery. False advertising on the range. The only keep the moles away a couple of feet around the unit, not the advertised distance. No company contact information included with the product.

Don't work
These do not work. Stops the gophers from the area the stake is in, but they just move to another location. Don't waste your money.

This is JUNK...stopped working within days.
I bought the two-pack, and when it arrived I took one unit, let it "charge" in the sun for a full day and then placed it in a plant bed. When I turned the unit on I could hear the sound emitted from the unit, so I "knew" it was working. I checked the unit daily and for the first week it seemed to work. Then it stopped and would not function. So...I removed that unit and installed the spare one. That worked for two days and stopped. It's still in the ground but I haven't heard the unit operate. I regret this purchase...it was just junk!
