Review: Superb alternative to Lemon curd. Great for pies, and adding to yoghurt - For some time now we have adding lemon curd to plain greek yoghurt, thus making a lemon curd flavour at a fraction of the cost charged by the big manufacturers. The problem is I was getting a little tired of lemon and wanted a change. Enter Thursday cottage - who have made some enticing alternative flavours. So far we have tried the Blood orange and this Black Cherry, and I have to say they are BOTH excellent! Mix a spoon of either with yoghurt - and if you want to be indulgent, a small touch of cream and you have an instantly delicious desert which won't break the bank. As an experiment I also tried making a cherry curd tart - and I have to say the result was superb! I'm not that keen on Lemon Curd Tart as it always seems a bit too pungent - but the black cherry produced a fantastic result, which was like an up-market traditional american cherry pie. So yes I definitely recommend this - and if you have the opportunity why not try the Blood orange too?
