From reading a few other reviews I was skeptical to buy this although I wanted this type of gadget. The low price removed my fear as I could afford to be wrong. So I bought it.I'm glad I did. The telescopic extension handle works better than I expected. Its not weak and flexible when extended. It stays rigid enough to perform its job.The claws are just right. Not to dull, not too sharp, just right.The handle has a super nice rubber grip which is so easy to hold onto while your contorting yourself. I hang it on a hook by my kitchen door. I always know where it is when I need it and I always put it back so it wont get lost. Its no good if you cant find it when you NEED IT.I've had it now about 4 months. I expect it to last more than five years. The quality of its manufacture is better than I expected by reading other reviews.I love it enough I bought two more and gave them away as gifts. Everybody gets itches on their back they cant reach easily and almost nobody has one of these yet.I love that when its not needed, it retracts to the very small short position. If I was a women, I would have one in my purse.

This is my first review, which tells you how much I like this product! It does exactly what you want it to do... Scratch your itch. The extendable arm allows you to adjust height so you don't have to gyrate when reaching various areas on your back. The rubber handle makes sure you don't lose your grip or the class to turn. The metal claw is not only cute, but sharp enough that you don't have to apply pressure, and soft enough it won't tear your skin. The only change I would make is to allow us to choose the color, which is really no big deal :)

This telescopic back scratcher works well for what it is designed for. The scratch you get is not too rough, but not completely weak either. The reason I give this product 3 stars is because it broke after only about a month's worth of use. When extended out all the way for maximum reach, the metal can bend easily, and in the case of mine, snap completely off. And this wasn't a case of the pieces coming apart. The metal actually BROKE, leaving me with two pieces, neither of which are worth keeping. I've had much cheaper telescopic back scratchers last much longer.

I suffer from dry skin. I think I was born wanting my back scratched! It is really difficult to apply a moisturizer to your own back!! I do all of the right, recommended things. I do not use hot water in the shower. I do not use soap on my back either. I understand that that could sound gross, but, my I have been told that using a loofah by itself, will remove the dead skin cells, leaving the skin soft and smooth. That is great and all, but, it hardly takes care of the itch!! In my house, finding someone to scratch is not gonna happen!I have tried just about every kind of scratcher there is. I have tried the various brushes. I liked the model that was mounted on a door jam was my favorite of the brush type. The ones with the handle, forget it. The real Bad news...they all grossed me out! You could see some of the dead skin on it! Even washing after using could not get that image out of my mind! Yuk! I remained on the search for something that made me go AHHH!Well, this is it! Who would have thought that this little hand shaped thing would do the trick? But, it does! The telescopic wand makes it easy to reach every spot without killing myself! I use it on my scalp on occasion, too! This little thing is also sanitary. I wash it every time I use it and dry. Honestly, I can't believe this little thing works! It is a false description I was looking for the large or big bear claw scratcher not the regular size

For the most part this back scratcher is built well. It has a steady expandable arm with a solid hand at the end that is stamped from one piece of metal. Something I was really happy to see, because I have had fingers break off other scratcher.However, I can't give it five stars and almost gave it three, because the cushioned grip will not stay on. A little hot glue help.

One of my favorite bosses was known in his family for using forks as back scratchers! And then they got him a real back scratcher for his birthday, and he never looked back. That inspired me. I've never used a fork, but I would twist and turn to reach a "scratch" area. I have several back scratchers now -- bedroom, office -- and use them all the time. I had a bamboo scratcher that didn't have an extender and also smelled funny. But "the claw" works great. The metal gives a good scratch, and the extender makes it possible to reach anywhere on my back.

Great for getting to those hard to reach places on your back. I read the negative reviews regarding the extendable handle eventually not holding its position. I agree that will eventually happen from normal wear. However, the perfect length for me is 13 inches which is just the first level of the extension. I can't imagine anyone needing this fully extended. They would have to literally raise their hands above their head just to get the claw in the center of their back. So to eliminate future problems I cement glued it at that length. I found that this also made it a LOT stronger with most of the metal packed into the handle. Now it's PERFECT!
