## Description

The unique characteristics of oak make for strong, reliable walking companion that is just as dependable on the hiking trail as it is on the paved, urban street.

Review: Sturdy, strong hiking stick - High quality, sturdy hiking stick! This hiking stick handle has an oval shape which makes it a little smaller and it fits my hand better than the larger round handle hiking sticks. I like the looks of the polished oak finish more than the rugged style hiking sticks. I use it for both daily use and for outdoor hiking situations. It is very strong and yet light enough so I don't get tired using it. This is very well made and I highly recommend it!
Review: A splendid walking stick. - This is my second Brazos oak walking stick and it too is a beauty! The finish on this somewhat plainer and more straightforward model is just perfect - thank you Brazos craftsperson Shelly O'Briant! In use, the heft, balance and lighter weight all make for a wonderfully supportive walking companion. I had to cut the length down to a more acceptable 56", but once that was done and the rubber tip refitted (first soaked in very hot water), it bacame the perfect size to accompany me on my evening walks. My other Bazos oak walking stick came in a similar legth with a more curved, shaped handle, so this one is a nice alternative to use when I'd like a change. Both sticks fall readily to hand; each has a simple, straightforward design what with their elegantly twisted shanks and each is light and strong enough to provide that reassuringly steadying support that we older folks occasionally need and appreciate, particularly at dusk when the light can play tricks on our eyes!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I assume the "lacquer finish" is clear. Could it be black (or the wood stained black) instead?**
A: The walking stick appears to be stained/lacquered/varnished/Minwax-ed a medium brown with the wood grain visible through the finish. I'm not sure if there's an option for colors on the product description page. I don't see why you couldn't "do-it-yourself" a different color over the "factory paint". Perhaps a dark stain which still preserves the wood grain pattern visible through the finish?

**Q: Does it have the option to change the tip?**
A: There was no option to change it. You can remove it and replace it. Anything other than a push on tip may require modification to the stick

**Q: I know it breaks down into 3 pieces but is it the same 3 pieces from a singular staff or "frankensteined" together from multiple different pieces?**
A: It is 3 pieces from a single staff.

**Q: what size replacement rubber tips should I order**
A: Hi! I bought mine just recently, so I have never had the need of a new rubber tip, but I measure what I have and the bottom part is 1 inch 1/2, and the height is 1 inch 5/8 and the opening where the stick goes is about 1 inch 1/8. Have you tried to call Brazos company? I think they would be able to tell you better. Hope this help you a little.
