CableModBasics E-Series 12VHPWR PCI-e Cable for EVGA G/G+ / P/P+ / T (Black, 16-pin to Triple 8-pin, 60cm)

I recently upgraded to a GeForce RTX 4070 Super and through that was exposed to the 12VHPWR connector for the first time. The card came with PCIe power adapter cable that took in two PCIe power connectors and output one 12VHWPR connector.When I first installed the card, within a week or so, I began having sporadic issues (days apart) where the screen would go blank and the fans would spin up to full blast. The PC hadn't crashed but I couldn't see anything and so a reboot was the only way out. Via various forums I learned about the potential fragility/flakiness of this new connector if it's not attached fully and absolutely and without too much bend in the cable. Not related at all to heat, GPU activity, etc. because I was always at the desktop when it happened - just a fragile power connection.By unplugging the 12VHPWR connector on the adapter cable and reconnecting it firmly and securely, I may well have solved the problem without this cable. I went a few days before installing this CableMod cable without any issues. But I had already had an order in for this cable so went ahead and installed it.I am using it with a Seasonic Platinum TX-850 and it works well. No issues since installing about 1-2 weeks ago. It cleans up the cabling a little, but not a huge difference. I removed the PCIe power cables plugged into the 12VHWPR adapter going to the PSU and replaced them with this one cable.This cable was very nearly not long enough to reach from the PSU to the GPU, however, so check that for yourself - I had to get creative with routing it to the GPU on my ATX motherboard in a full tower case to have it just about reach. Excess strain/stress on the connector is one possible failure mode with 12VHWPR so it's not irrelevant.So, the cable works great and with the advertised products. Not sure I needed it, but it does the job it says it will do. But check the length to make sure it's sufficient for your needs!

Cable is very high quality and has had zero issues powering a 4090 used for 4k gaming. This is such a better alternative than using the adapter with 4 inputs that came with my GPU. I know their right-angle 12VHPWR adapter had some major issues, but I see no degradation in this cable after sustained use. Just make sure you get the right version for your PSU and that you have enough wattage for your GPU. If you're not comfortable using this cable, then put that money towards an ATX 3.0 PSU with a native 12VHPWR cable instead.

Atendeu como produto mas o produto não era o da marca anunciada (Cablemod). Confesso ter comprado pela marca e ficar surpreendido quando recebi de outro fabricante. Felizmente a qualidade do cabo é boa.
