great product for the price
the product is a great investment if you are looking for a cell phone booster accessory. I have a small business that goes up and into the country over some rough roads and it nice to have it in the cradle for two reasons one because the cradle holds the phone securely in place and it does not get lost in the vehicle and two because it really works good for pinpointing the booster to a direct phone for the best possible cell phone signal instead of trying to give multiple phone extra service over the interior ant that is mounted in the seat or above the headliner of the vehicle. would recommend to anyone.

Cradle works fine, but build quality is poor
The dual band cradle works as advertised fairly well in my rural neighborhood. The construction of the cradle is pretty cheap though. I wasn't rough with it, but the cable broke away from the cradle housing after only six months of use. I bought a replacement but really had to hunt to find one that wasn't part of a package - cradle, antenna, power amplifier. I have a couple of antennas now. Based on this purchase and the use two other Wilson cell phone products, it seems that build quality of Wilson products is in decline.

Allows use of good external antenna and power booster.
Works fine, allowing external antenna for most cellphones, greatly improving signal strength in the boonies.I use it with a good 20 db gain permanent roof antenna and a digital 3 watt signal booster, improving my range by 10's of miles and eliminating the largess of dropped calls when I'm out working/ driving in the boonies of Wyoming and other places in the Rocky Mountain boonies.Phone must remain in cradle for benefit, so it must be used with phones built in speaker phone (awkward and not safe) or better yet, a good blue tooth hands free setup.

Item not as described - and frankly kind of rip-off because it isn't what is described
I had been searching elsewhere for months for the Wilson Electronics Cradle with the foam interior because the new cradles without the foam interior DO NOT WORK in my back country living situation. Excited that I had found foam interior cradle I purchased TWO of the above pictured cradles (to have a spare) and received.... .... The new, not very well working, non-foam interior cradle.Snowed in with little access to the world and ability to mail this item back to the provider... I am now stuck with another TWO non-foam interior cradles that DO NOT WORK as well as the foam cradles... as well as continued crappy phone service. Thanks for the trouble, taking my money, and NOT SENDING ME THE ITEM PICTURED ABOVE.

Cell phone cradle
In the description, you'll see the following: PowerMax(tm) DA4000MR Mobile Repeater 3 Watt 38dB Gain Dual Band Wireless Cellular Amplifier / Repeater.Sadly, it's a simple cradle with an antenna cable for connecting it to an external antenna, nothing more. This I knew but others looking at this product would read the description and wrongly assume that the description is about the product they are ordering. The bullet points for the product, * Works with Wilson Mobile Wireless or SIGNALBOOST Amps (sold separately) * Boost Your Signal Up to 10 Times of Most Cell Phones * Compatible with All Cell Phones and Increases Driver Safety * Supports any Hands-Free Device Including Ear-Buds & Bluetooth Products * Adjustable to Fit Any Size Cell Phone and Installs In MinutesWithout additional hardware, there is no signal boosting involved with this product. Other than that, it works as advertised, it holds a cell phone.

Good as it gets
Wilson has a great product here. I travel a lot in remote areas of Utah, Nevada, Colorado & Idaho using my Samsung Epic 4g touch on the sprint network. When I got the handset booster installed and checked signal at home where I typically get okay reception(rarely a dropped call) and it was -86 dBm, 4 of 6 bars. When I turned on the booster signal strength improved to -64 dBm,6 of 6 bars. A few miles from home there is a canyon where my calls always dropped before and now I have signal strength several miles further than before. There are limits to the range of the booster device but they seem to be more about the location of service provider's towers than what the booster antenna can do. For instance in Moab, UT there are lots of canyons and physical blocks to line of sight to the towers. Where Sprint looses signal, I pickup a roaming signal at nearly full strength -76, 5 of 6 bars but only with the booster. So if there is any signal from a tower in the area- this device works good to amplify. Here is a big note- I am only using the handset cradle. I have not had the time to test the multi-user velcro antenna that mounts on the side of the seat. Since I travel alone most of the time it is good enough. When somebody else needs it, we put their phone in the mount temporarily and they make their calls. I haven't really been able to verify if data speeds are faster, but voice and text work a lot better. I do not text and drive, I pull off the road and answer messages. I like the vent holder for the handset cradle because the A/C keeps the phone cold during use and should help the phone battery last longer, maybe that changes in the winter-we'll see. My vehicle is also a stick shift and the phone is at my finger tips. I also use a Jaw-bone blue tooth, which hasn't been better or worse with this booster device, that I can tell.I ordered an extra window suction cup mount, not knowing that one was already included in my package so I wasted $13.00 there, but I have already made money back on the total purchase of this powerful efficient booster.Single complaint- the DC power on light/switch that goes into the cigarette lighter port works in reverse from what I expect and constantly leave the power on because the light is not very bright when its on. I have left it on for a three day weekend with out driving. Truck still started, but had a little difficulty cranking over. Its my fault I know, but I think the switch has a little to do with it and I would not let that influence your buying decision. It really is a great addition for keeping in touch with my customers while on the go.

What I wanted, What I needed
My deepest regret, that I did not get this unit earlier. It was exactly what I was looking for and it works great. I might have to get a second one, one for the vehicle and one for the house.

Worked great
Easy to mount, connected to my existing booster, works well with my smart phone, better than the remote antenna, and keeps the phone from bouncing around the truck.

Broke after minimal use and return option expired yesterday!
Have only had this item for a few weeks. Has been used only on weekends up north. The cord and connector separated yesterday. I come home today (and to working internet access) only to see that the return expired yesterday! Seriously! So now I'm stuck with this broken waste of money??
