SPICY AND SWEET
October and Mae are childhood enemies. They haven’t seen each other in seven years, since high school, but are now in each others lives again because of Scarlett and Abel, Mae’s sister and October’s teammate.October asks Mae to take over the pool house since Scarlett is no longer occupying it, and you couldn’t have asked Mae a worst question. She doesn’t want him near her, especially not in her backyard. After being forced to say yes, Mae lets October move in. But not before Scarlett tells her they need a “hate fck” to resolve their problems. Seed planted. And maybe about to grow?October and Mae really do start out as enemies. But at their age, Octobers still not really sure why they’re still going at it, but Mae does. Their insults are clever and hit their target right where it hurts, until the other starts to care for the other. When Scarlett plants that little seed about have sex with October, Mae wants to seduce October. Having sex is a great way to get out their frustrations. But after some back and forth, they finally do it. And it’s hot. And they each want more. Even if one of them loses their 10k bet. This book was spicy but tasteful, and honestly I’m still thinking about the scene with the *toy* and October’s aftercare for Mae. THAT scene was done so well, and honestly the point where I decided the book was amazing and well done.A must read!

Cute, funny, and a little steamy
YAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSThis book was everything I needed and I’m so surprised by that. It felt very second chance-y. And for anyone that’s knows me, I hate that trope. Especially when the conflict has to do with something dumb that happens years ago. Despite the fact that their hatred all boiled down to some really horribly mean stuff that went down when they were literal kids, it worked for this book.Mae and October were such fun characters that I didn’t even mind. They’re both the best kind of sarcastic and ooze confidence. It lead to some pretty funny showdowns between the two. There was just enough tension to keep me interested and their banter had me genuinely laughing out loud. These two are equal parts insane, but they complimented each other so well. It absolutely cracked me up how in denial they were. As always, I love when the friends of the couple roll their eyes at how obviously in love they are. It’s so funny when everybody but them knows. And lordy were they steamy together. Don’t be fooled by the cutesy illustrated cover. This series pack a punch. Cute, funny, and a little steamy. So basically everything I need in a book.

for me
Rating this book was hard for me. I absolutely loved the book until the end. This book felt like a true enemies to lovers and the banter was absolutely amazing. But the ending of more like the accident near the end was stupid. I wasn’t sure with the ending being so annoying to give it a four but it was really good and thinking about it without the accident at the end it would be 5 stars. The accident at the end was annoying and unneeded. I feel like it added absolutely nothing to the story. It was better than a 3rd act breakup but still annoying. Without the accident this book would be five stars. But alas besides that this book was truly amazing. Like the couple was so cute. I really loved this together and how cute they are. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. I would totally recommend this book. One of the best enemies to lovers I’ve read. 4/5

"I love you." "Likewise."
Such a fast-paced fun read! Enemies to lovers that still had their banter even after they got together is so hard to find, but this book encapsulated that beautifully. I love the banter, the snarky comments between October and Mae, and how it felt like we were in their own little world. Enemies-to-lovers usually isn't my favorite trope, but the relationship between October and Mae was an accurate representation of the transition from enemies to lovers. Though, I wished it was more of a secret relationship with a grand reveal toward the end. I felt the last chapter was rushed and slightly unnecessary in terms of the plot, though I liked how that played into the love confession. Overall, a great read, and would recommend it to others if they want an enemies with benefits book. The books in this series are continuously getting better, and I can't wait for Lea and Fortune's book!

the red zone:)
i loved this book so much. the only thing is i wished it were longer:) The way they spoke to each other and their inner dialogue was different to a lot of the characters in all the other romance novels i’ve read and it was refreshing to not feel like i was reading the same stuff as always. Again, I would have given it a higher rating if the book was longer because i wanted to see more details of their story play out and i think there could have been so much more given to this story. Still love it though. Gonna go read the next one!

Spoilers below
I read this book because I had read the first one and felt like I needed to continue on. Which is probably the only reason I will read the 3rd one as well. Like I said for the last one, it wasn’t horrible, there were definitely parts of the story I enjoyed. But it really didn’t seem like an Enemies with benefits book. And the reason Mae was mad at October was also kind of silly. Like I get that it was painful, but I was so long ago, and he really wasn’t that involved in the whole thing. Like I was expecting it to be something more serious because of the last books. And when it comes to the enemies thing, I would say she didn’t even really hate him/they weren’t really even enemies when they started sleeping together. He was already aware of why she was mad at him way before that. Which again, this book seemed rushed. I’m happy there wasn’t really a “breakup” but still everything happened so fast and the epilogue just like the first book rushed to finish everyone’s story. And I get that it was an enemies to benefits book, but I felt like that’s all their story was and it kind of made it eh.

3.5 stars!
This was one of the few books I found where the MCs are actually enemies and not just secretly in love with each other. It was so entertaining to see Mae & October throw jabs even if their enemies dynamics lasted for a short while. Mae was a firecracker and I loved her snark. October said and did so many swoonworthy things that made Mae see a different side of him than she's accustomed to which made their relationship shift from being each others nemesis to somewhat friends. The plot and setting were good. And it was nice to get some Scarlett & Abel moments too.
