It does work fairly well. Good for the price.
So far it seems to be working pretty good. Good quality for the price

Good dual-band repeater.
Test Results (Mbps) with repeater, router and computer in same small room, repeater and router antennae with same orientation:Baseline (my computer and router, no repeater/extender):Wired: 136 (Gb connections, likely my ISP ceiling)Wireless (5GHz): 133Wireless(2.4GHz): 85Repeater (repeat WIFI) Mode:2.4GHz: 355GHz: 68Extender (device-wired-to-router, “extending WIFI”) Mode:2.4GHz: 685GHz: 92Other Notes:- Single network port. A dual port would be better for daisy-chaining (or redundant connectivity).- The SSID names are configurable for 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs in both repeater and extender modes.- Once configured, a hard reset (pin reset) is required to reconfigure the device. Not a problem, but FYI.- I won’t comment much on range because frankly this is almost completely dependent on the environment/application. But for what it’s worth, my router is in a corner room on my second level. For testing, I placed this repeater in a receptacle on my main level, and did see a stronger signal than my router on the main level (but of course significantly lower than optimal/tested speeds).- I like the design. Black, sleek…it looks kinda like a little android avatar.Bottom Line:Compared to others I have/tested, the throughput is really good. ~25 Mbps repeated on 2.4GHz seems to by typical for these, so this one at 35 is better. Direct-to-router is optimal of course, but this device is designed to amplify the signal in a suboptimal environment. 70/90Mbps (repeat/expend respectively) on 5GHZ is lesser in terms of a direct-to-router connection, but again very respectable compared to others I’ve tested. Really, despite the ISP propaganda, for most households, anything above 30Mbps is (currently) generally adequate for video streaming (e.g. 4K streaming requires ~25Mbps, and everything else is far less). The caveat to this statement being that multiple TVs/game-streams, or environmental conditions/signal-degradation may require more throughput/signal-strength. So, with 30+ Mbps on 2.4 Ghz, this device should reach that security cam that’s a bit out of range, and with 60/90 Mbps on 5GHz, this device is adequate if your device direct-to-router signal is weak and having reach/latency issues for your TV/Laptop.

Wifi extender
I had a Hocus Pocus 2 outdoor viewing party way out in my yard. And this worked great. No issues with watching the movie.

It seems to work
It seems to work except for one small area in my home. Will need to get a larger Wifi extender.

It works ok but not great and not for my needs (also my dog hates it)
First of all, this wifi extender does most everything it claims to do. And it works as long as you know the limitations.I bought this because I have some cameras that I like to move around. Sometimes I put them outside on a deck or balcony which is far enough from my wireless router that the connection is iffy. I was hoping to put an extender on that side of the house, so these cameras will work. This works but it's not seamless...This is the first extender I have tried, so I don't know if they all work this way, but this extender does not really "extend" my network in the way that I expected. It does extend the overall network area, but it doesn't use the same network name. This means if I want to move a camera out there, I need to reconfigure it to use a different network name/password. This is easy to do with a cell phone but it's not convenient to do with other devices like cameras.I was also hoping that when I am outside, my cell phone would switch to the extender once my normal network connection drops. This is when it would switch to mobile. So I was hoping it would switch to the extender. This might actually work, but my cell phone has better connectivity than those cameras, so it doesn't actually lose connection in my yard, and therefore it doesn't automatically switch over. I can, however, manually switch the network when outside and in that case I do see a faster connection. So that is good. Just not as seamless as I hoped. Also, the product is supposed to extend without degrading the speed. This is not true. I tried several tests where I toggle between my router and the extender and run speed tests. Even when I am next to the extender (and much further from the router) the speed is faster connected normally and slower when connected to the extender. Only when I am really far away (like outside) do I get a faster connection with the extender. Although the difference is substantial (router is about 1.5x or 2x faster) it's just comparative. The speed of the extender was good enough to use (I didn't do anything intensive like gaming though).Lastly, the instructions are not very good. Luckily it doesn't really matter. The process is almost self-explanatory, so I think it would actually be easier to set up if they gave no instructions at all, then to give the instructions they provide. Maybe. In any case, set up worked. Once set up, you cannot change the password again, so I did have to reset it and go through the setup a second time. Basically just another example of it working ok, but not great.I have planned to leave this extender plugged in always so devices could use it when needed, but since the devices that I had planned to connect to it (couple computers) get a slower connection with it, I don't need it. And if I do want to move a camera for a long period of time, I could use it and reconfigure the camera, but I doubt I will ever do that. So probably this just sits in a drawer... but I am an Amazon Vine reviewer so it was free to me.P.s. my dog rarely rarely growls at anything and never has issues with electronics, but for some reason he growled at this extender nonstop for about an hour until I moved it to the kitchen.
