GREAT GAME , BUY ONE OR TWO , I BOUGHT TWO.
I LIKE IT . I BOUGHT TWO. VERY CHALLENGING. THE MORE YOU PLAY , THE BETTER IT GETS. I'M STILL PROGRESSING THROUGH THE GAME. DON'T EXPECT TO JUMP INTO 1ST PLACE LIKE IN SOME OF THE OTHER GAMES , THIS GAME IS REALISTIC AND VERY GOOD TO PLAY. DO PRACTICE RACES TO GET A BETTER POSITION AT THE START OF THE RACE. IF YOU DO NOT DO PRACTICE RACES , YOU WILL BE PUT AT THE END OF THE GRID WHEN THE RACE STARTS. THE BETTER YOU DO IN A PRACTICE RACE , THE FURTHER THEY PUT YOU TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE OR (GRID) , BUT YOU CAN NOT RESTART A PRACTICE RACE. IF YOU DON'T DO A PRACTICE RACE AND START THE RACE AT THE BACK OF THE (GRID) , BUT FINISH THE RACE IN 8TH PLACE OR BETTER , YOU WILL BE PUT FURTHER TO THE FRONT OF THE (GRID) TO START THE NEXT RACE. THIS IS A GOOD GAME , VERY CHALLENGING WITH GOOD GRAPHICS , GOOD ENGINES SHIFTING SOUNDS AND EVERYTHING. GET ONE OR TWO. I BOUGHT TWO , ONE TO TAKE TO A FRIENDS HOUSE.

Most similar to FM4 of Grid series.
You won't have the upgrade and tuning choices of Forza 4 (nearest comparison) but the driving is similar with track racing although tougher AI opponents. Racing career mode is similar to other Grid or Dirt series and leaves a lot to be desired.

Fond memories...but title has not held-up with age...
I guess I forgot...or maybe it seemed better at its original release that it really was...Whatever the case...this title has not held up...I attempted to race from cockpit view and gave-up in frustration because the angle gave almost no perspective of the horizon... That...and I felt as if I was placed somehow sitting so far against the door that the sensation was my vehicle was dog-tracking throughout the race...I hope the current generation version of GRID addresses these issues to make playing from my preferred perspective...realistic...and fun...Until then...I have put this game away so I could simply remember it fondly as stepping stone it was...

Fun track oreintated game
I'm enjoying it so far. But I really liked the old Pro Race Driver games from the original XBox. I just finally got a 360, so I'm a little behind. :-)

Good....just not as good as the hype. (or the original GRID)
I love racing games. I've owned the original Grid since that was released and then prepurchased both Grid 2 and Grid Autosport, based on all the hype. Grid 2, as most everyone knows, was a big disappointment. Grid Autosport, I would say, disappointed me as well, unfortunately. It's still a very good racing game. It's just not as good as I had hoped it would be and I still think that the original Grid is the best of the three.Disclaimer(s):I've not yet finished this game...maybe close to half way through it...As mentioned, I love racing games, so I've played many of them.I don't use a wheel...only the standard controller.I don't play multiplayer.And...I used to race real cars....not long, but long enough to have some experience in how it feels to race.Pros:I like all the tracks so far. (except the drift tracks....more on that below)So far, I like most of the cars (original Grid cars were better IMHO)Graphics are great, but even as a working artist, it doesn't matter how good the graphics are....the game should be better.Cons:Strange system of play. I'm still kind of at a loss as to what exactly constitutes a 'season'. Some seasons have as many as 12 races.....some seasons have only four? And the fact that you can sign on with different race teams simply makes it all confusing to me. I'd sooner sign onto one team, with one team mate, and stay that way until I finish my career. Or at least a few seasons. You basically can't choose your cars as you could in Grid. Yes, you have a choice between two or three if you sign onto a different team, but it's still odd to me...maybe I'm used to simpler games? Maybe I have to keep playing to be able to drive better cars...not sure. The AI drivers are certainly stronger in this game, which is good. But what sucks is that if they so much as tap your car from behind, around you go. If you try to do the same to them, it's extremely difficult. The narrator is really lame....he says the same things over and over again. This seems to me to be very lazy on the part of the game devs as it would be way more interesting if the narrator actually had more to say that had something to do with the race results.Drifting....it sucked in Grid and in Grid 2 and IMHO, really sucks in this game I hate it and don't think it belongs in this game. I know drifting is sometimes part of the weekend 'show' at some of these race events, but to me it's a show, not racing. When I started racing, I started in karts and was doing drifting with that, just to practice. I didn't think it was racing at all...don't like it...Overall, I'm glad I bought the game but wish I had waited for it to be discounted. It's good..not great. It kind of reminds me of the PC game rFactor....probably more like rFactor 2 since the track stuff is all 3D and the people are animated. I don't care about that stuff...I just want to have fun racing. For example, a week after I got Grid AutoSport, I bought a used copy of Flatout Ultimate Carnage. I had more fun playing that game for awhile The car physics were great. The graphics are really good and the game learning curve is all but perfect. And best of all, they keep the silly stuff as options and not part of your 'career'. (can you tell I hate the drifting stuff? LOL)But I've now put FlatOut away and I'm back to Grid AutoSport. I like it....I don't love it. I loved Grid. And I have no idea why game devs can't understand what makes a great game.
