Brakes lost performance very quickly due to hardened layer on surface
Had these professionally installed in a store. Brakes pads worked great (100%) for 2 weeks then a hardened layer started to form on the ends and the brakes on both front and back and went down to around 75% performance along with this horrible squealing noise on the front after 3 weeks and the brakes just weren't holding well on my specialized bicycle (40%).I carried it back to the expert and he said the brakes look like they should last around a year again in theory and shaved off the layer and it clamped okay again (65%) for all of 2 days, then back to the same squealing noise and poor performance (50%) on the front. Back brakes stayed at 65% performance with no squealing noise but reduced nevertheless.Very disappointed.
