About the Author Susanne Aspley served in the Peace Corps, Thailand, 1989-1991 and later worked in Israel and England. She also served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a photojournalist in Kuwait, Bosnia, Panama and Cuba. She has never learned to eat durian.

Very enjoyable read.
Ladyboy and the Volunteer is one of my all-time favourite books. Quirky, funny, sad, upbeat. Words alone can not express just how much this story spoke to me. I've already read this book three times and I'll read it many more times I'm sure.
