Loved these for shoe tie training!!
If you are teaching someone how to tie their own shoes or using these in Occupational Therapy to support the development of fine motor skills, these are AWESOME! There was enough excess lace to support larger sized fingers to wrap and tie the laces without losing grip. Smaller (in inches) sized laces can produce smaller bows and that can be frustrating for someone new to shoe tying. These were tremendously helpful in my household!!!

Worked perfectly!
My 12 year old son has a condition called dyspraxia or also known as Developmental Coordination Disorder. Things like writing, drawing, buttoning, zippers and tying shoes are extremely difficult for him. He sees an Occupational Therapist to help him with the speed and accuracy of his writing, but they weren't working much on his shoe tying. So, I initially got a really cool wooden shoe by Melissa and Doug (sold here on Amazon) and we worked on it briefly everyday, as not to frustrate him. 3-5 minutes. In about a week he mastered that shoe. But then came the task of tying his own shoes while they were on his feet! He figured out if he lifted his food on a stool, he had better luck. I decided to give these shoelaces a try, because that seemed to be his issue, the complexity of the shoelaces on his actual shoes. We've had the laces on his shoes (and I got them to match his shoes, so they don't look "babyish") for about a week and he's had a 100% success rate in tying them by himself. After years of trying so many different things, finally FINALLY he can tie his shoes! I really recommend these to parents of kids of all ages, whether they have a fine motor condition or not.

I like the fact that each lace is a different color
I got these hoping they would help my 6 year old learn to tie his shoes. I like the fact that each lace is a different color. I think that is helpful to a child learning to tie. I had hoped that the laces would be less slippery (for a child learning to tie, when the laces don't "stick" or stay together when you make your knot, it makes it more difficult to tie the shoe tightly enough to stay tied.) So these laces slid more than I thought they would based on other reviews. Also, for anyone else in this situation, I purchased the smaller laces (because my son only wears a child's 13.) I wish I had purchased the larger set, because he runs out of lace when making his loops and by the time he pulls to tighten, one of the loops is all the way thru (so if I had longer laces for him, I think it would make that part easier.) All in all not a bad lace, and the 2 color is nice, but it's not as great or helpful as I had expected, especially for the price.

No more Velcro!
My son learned how to tie his shoes in 30 minutes! It’s easy to teach kids using these because they don’t get overwhelmed with which side is which. Brilliant idea!

These are great
My child was able to tie using dual colored laces in a how-to-tie book but just could not transfer the skill to shoes. Putting these in his shoes fixed the trouble and I think after he gains the muscle memory he’ll be able to switch back to regular laces. These are also just a bit rigid so the bunny ears stand up rather than flop over in a confusing mess, which is also helpful to the learner

Why did I wait so long to get these!!!
These laces are great! My son who has eye focus issues has battled with learning how to tie his shoes. He is now in 2nd grade and I am so glad I finally got these (his occupational therapist had mentioned different colored laces would help). He learned in literally 5 minutes how to tie them and feels so independent now that he can do it himself! He wears a size 5 kids show and we ordered the 37 inch length laces. They work great! I purchased some for my 1st grade son to and he is enjoying tying his shoes as well. Again, the both literally learned in about 5 minutes. I truly believe that it is the two different lace colors that make this so easy for them to learn. I was very happy with the quality. The laces do SOMETIMES come untied because the quality of the lace is nice and thick (as it needs to be for small fingers), but we taught the boys how to double knot and that has done the trick!
