The best in-ear headphones available... and I've tried others.
My last set of Skullcandy headphones lasted me 3 or more years, and I absolutely loved. That was until they fell out of my bag as I got into the car, were trapped in the door and bounced a hundred metres down the road. They were robust, but not that robust. In the last year I have bought 3 new pairs of headphones from other brands. Two broke after a few weeks and were not of good audio quality, the other which I have used for 6 months sounded poor and just didn't fit my ears which I have never had a problem with before. The only reason I went away from Skullcandy was because I wanted a volume control, but having been so fed up of these other options I decided to reinvest these... I have since decided no volume control does not matter to me enough to not stick with Skullcandy.Their stuff is attractive and well made. This set have nice see through plastic that lets you glimpse the inner workings. The sound quality is exceptional, and I am someone who cares greatly about that. What makes these stand out from my last pair is the comfort of the fit. This ergonomic design gives a really snug fit, I actually think these will stay in when running which is not something I normally bother trying. The only negative could be the in-line control. The plastic on this is a little flimsy and managed to snap on my last set whilst loose in my bag. The button still worked, but it is a weak spot and the design has not changed.Exceptional value.

Good sound, fairly durable, newer models may have quality issues
Context:These were bought as a replacement for a pair of Skullcandy Smokin' Buds I already own. Unfortunately the sound in the left earpiece was very quiet and I had to return them. I therefore I can only review based on first impressions given there were differences between the old and newer models.Sound Quality 3.5/5:The sound (in the right earpiece) appeared to be of good quality, comparable to my older pair. They aren't "high end" but they're not noticeably bad.Design 4/5:The design has changed slightly. They now have the words "Skullcandy" on the back of the mic/button, and the jack has changed from inline/straight to a 90 degree style.I like the design of the earpieces as they are obviously left/right when putting them in in the dark.I also like the flat wires as they tend to "untangle" themselves easily and don't tighten into a knot.Durability 4/5:The reason I was replacing my old pair was because the jack has apparently become worn and they no-longer trigger my mobile to output on headphones (it says on loudspeaker with them plugged in). They still work in my laptop so I'm still using them every day. They're just no longer useable with a mobile. This seems to be a general problem will all earphones though, and my old set lasted longer than most, around 6 months to a year of heavy use, so I don't fault them too much for it. (I'm experimenting with TNP Extender / FosPower Adapter Jack's to see if I can mitigate this with my next pair.)

Great earphones for a great price
Had the skullcandy smokin' buds 2 for a year now and in every situation they have never failed me. The sound is a good balance of bass and is fairly crisp, not the best sound ive heard but good for 25 pound. The ear buds fit my average sized ears fine without coming out when biking only when tugged do they come out of my ears. The wire is a perfect length for doing whatever you way be doing they are big enough to go from my ears to my jean pocket and im 6"4 and even after that it has a good amount of slack. The multimedia buttons are great for skipping and pausing songs along with youtube videos and other media you may be using (1 press for pause 2 press for skip) the durability has been great for me as they have survived the washing machine twice without breaking.Would recommend to anybody needing cheap earbuds but if you have the money would recommend 100 pound plus headphones

Two great pairs of headphones
I have a pair of Smokin Buds 1 and they are fantastic with a superb balanced sound with plenty of quality bass - if you ensure they are sealed in your ear (a bit of experimentation helps here). I also have Sennheiser CX in ears and bought the Smokin Buds to use with the built in mic. And was surprised how much better they sounded than the Sennheisers. Slightly clearer and fuller bottom end. The only drawback with the originals is they didnt stay put in my ear and they are quite sensitive to placement. Anyway, i thought i had lost them last week so ordered a pair of the Smokin Buds 2, and they are different to the 1's because their offset drivers means they fit snuggly in the ear. They have a bit more treble than the 1's and maybe slightly less bass but again deliver a fantastic sound at a good price. Both have good build quality and cables that tend not to tangle - all good.My advice would be to buy either of these, but if you value a deeper bass go for the 1's but be prepared to fiddle with the placement. and if you want a pair that stay put, the Bud 2's will not dissapoint.

Best before- 12 months
Good comfortable fit and stays in the ears well. Also no crackling noises when you move your jaw.Sound quality is also good. Clear, with a reasonable amount of bass.Tangle free wires great. No pouch provided but I am using the old pouch from another set of headphones.Very good value at £11.99Unfortunately after about 10 months, these have packed in. A few weeks ago, the pause and skip buttons stopped working and now one earphone has stopped working. They have been used frequently, but would have expected them to last longer than this.Currently on pair number 3.Update- Now on pair number 4.Lasts about a year before internal wires start to go. Exactly the same problem as before.Again, cannot fault the sound quality, and the price is good as well. This time £10.
