Spin Master Quelf Board Game

I got this board game for a family vacation with guests. We gave it a test run before packing it and found ourselves laughing and having fun but I'm not sure it would work for our vacation of adults with small kids. The game is rated for 12+ but I'd recommend even older (15+). I think this game would appeal best to the college crowd. Also, more people playing equals more fun.There are 8 characters to choose from (super ninja monkey, Mr. Lugnut, Queen Spatula, etc.) and although it has colored coded categories like Cranium, they have a different spin. Each card has instructions with a Quelf Effect. Blue is Roolz (speak like a charismatic preacher every time you read a card aloud), purple is Showbiz (using interpretive dance as language, perform the following sentence), yellow is Stuntz (lick your elbow and then an opponent's elbow), red is Scatter Brainz (gives 2 topics to choose from to talk about - reasons you loved or had a crush on someone or reasons you have broken up with someone) and green is Quizzle (name the 3 ingredients of Tabasco Sauce). The instructions warn that if you do not think you can complete a card's instructions safely (?!) to just pick another one. This made us curious but have not found anything we considered dangerous so far.Before breaking out this board game, know your crowd since some of the the instructions can cause fights and some of the Quelf Effects are very silly. It's not a game for everyone but it is a lot of fun for the right crowd. I'll stick with our usual board games (cranium, scattegories & pictionary) but keep this one for a change of pace.

Hilarious game. Love it!

A friend told me about this game but I couldn't recall the name of it or the friend who told me about it, so I did a search to find a game that gave directions of silly things you had to do and came up with Quelf. The friend was right--it is fun and gets the whole family acting silly and laughing.I bought three of them for Christmas for adult children and their families. I've played it with two of the families. One family has 12 and 13 year old girls, and the other was my newlywed daughter and her husband, along with my husband and another grown son. In each case we had a blast. It is easy to set up, easy to play, moves along quickly and since many of the directions involve multiple players, everyone is involved throughout the game. The only negative is that it is made in China. Augghhhh!

Great fun family game!

I don't know what genius thought up this game, but it is SUCH a fun time, and has become a staple at most of my game nights and family gatherings.While this game may not be for the easily embarrassed, cause it asks you to do silly things like sing, dance, act things out, and ask your foot for permission every time you speak (yes this happened to me), it always results in hilarious time's. We have seriously cried laughing playing this game.You will not be disappointed if you bring this out the next time you have you friends over, just be warned that you are kinda screwed if you get the card where you have to constantly yell "the chickens are on fire" in order to try to get someone to say "apple" before the time runs out!

I bought Quelf based on my personality, I'm a pretty goofy person and love to laugh. I host a lot of game nights in my area so I Knew This Game Wouldn't Be appropriate in any of the selected venues I host at, but I also host a lot of family game nights so that's also a reason I decided to purchase Quelf. I hosted a family game night and had this game already set up and explained the rules and everyone demanded we play a new game because they don't like acting silly So point of review is if your a fun person and loves to laugh at yourself and your company can also then this game is for you. But if your in a situation like me where other people are too serious ( yuck) then think before you by, I think this will sit on my shelf. But Great game, very fun and easy to learn.
