long time fan of Edwin
drank a beer and chatted with him after a show at Sollecito's in Boone, NC about 1994 or so. Glad to see him back away from the glitz though it prolly cost him money. IMO, he has a great voice for soul and r&b.

Its a fun album of covers that he did good work on. Its different than his usuall stuff and not his best album.

アメリカンロッカーEdwin McCainの８作目。抜群の歌唱力とメロディックな曲作りが魅力のＳＳＷ。本作はオールカバーアルバム。Edwinが聴いてきた古いＲ＆Ｂ、サザンソウル、ファンク中心。内容もヴィンテージなサウンドで賑やかなホーンやバックコーラスがエモーショナルなEdwinのボーカルを支える。今までのジャムロック、サザンロックとは一味違った、彼の根っこの部分を堪能できる良作。本当に良い歌い手であることを実感するし、常にファンを楽しませようとするプロ意識に感動。

アメリカン・ロックシーンを底辺で支える、いつも良質な作品を送り届けてくれる彼らの、全てソウルの名曲カバーで占められたアルバム。ホーン・セクションも賑やかな、ソウルレヴューショーの趣だね。 以前にもそのハスキーボイスで、あのロッドの「Maggie May」を完全コピーしていたのも記憶に新しいが、ロードで叩き上げた確かな実力のバンドに、実はこういったホーン・セクションって、ばっちりはまるんだよね〜。古き良き時代の名曲たち、きっと彼らはこういった曲達を大事にしながら育ってきたんだろうね。愛情たっぷりの演奏が心地いい快作！
