Love it!
Wire-wrapping has fallen out of favour since making PCB"s is cheap and easy, but, if you have a need to prototype something that is potentially going to need lots of tweaking or "design as you go" then PCB's aren't great for that since you have to wait for them to be made and shipped to you and if you're likely to need quite a few cycles, that time adds up.Wire-wrapping is an old technique, but it's incredibly easy and quick to do, much easier than using matrix board or strip board, connections can be made quickly and most importantly, they're very good connections, they're not coming loose unless you want them too, which is the other great thing with this is that the other end of the tool allows you to loosen the connection and remove it.I'd recommend a recent pair of wire strippers, the tool does have a built in stripper but it's fidly and it's easy to pull the wire without it stripping. You can speed through the connections on a project very quickly, in fact, surprisingly quickly. The downside to this fallen out of favour is that wire wrap IC sockets (if you can find them) are expensive, so you may need to improvise with long pin headers, but it's easy enough to do.I'm really impressed with this tool and how good the results actually are.

Quality
Brought back memories of building computers in the good old days. The tool was well made and does its job well.

A simple tool, it does one job, and does it well
If you're here, then you probably already know what wire wrapping is.... This tool does that. One end puts it on, the other end takes it off, and there's a dinky little wire stripper in the middle. It's all metal, and comfortable to use. As far as I know, it's only suitable for AWG30 wire, and unless you chew your fingernails right to the quick, you likely won't need the wire stripper. Loading the wire into the tool is a bit fiddly, but that's no surprise given the tiny sizes of everything. One loaded, and applied to the pin, a very gentle downward pressure will result in a perfect wrap about 95% of the time. If you do snap the wire, it's easy to see it's happened.I would have given it 5stars, but it loses one for being a bit pricey for an unpowered tool.

Works well
Produces a very neat and strong connection. Easy to use.

The simplicity is worth the price
At first glance it looks expensive but when taking into account the design, the idea and simplicity of use personally I think it’s a really great addition to my tool kit.

Very well made but check wire sizes
Good quality tool, BUT do check wire and post diameters. AWG30 is tiny. If you understand what you're buying this is recommended.

Useful wire wrapping tool
What can i say. It’s a wire wrapping tool.Stick the wire up hook through and twiddle around a leg.Bobs your uncle it works.

Expensive, but does the job.
The perfect way to hook up perfbord circuits. I'm not sure why this classic technique has fallen out of use this tool allows you to connect up component leads without soldering, and aids making bridges when you do want to solder. With multi coloured wire and a practiced technique produces beautiful 'artisanal' boards. This tool is the classic parented design with 30 awg stripper, wrapping end and unwrapping end. The stripper on mine has become slightly loose which is disappointing for a quite expensive tool, especially at this price, but you'll be hard pressed to find them much cheaper.
