CAUTION FOR ANYONE WITH DRYWALL WINDOWS
My cats loved this and would literally sit on this thing constantly. I was having issues with my blinds getting messed up from the cats so I tried removing it to place it in another location without blinds. Trying to remove the adhesive Velcro portion ended up damaging the window. No matter how hard I tried to peel it off, all the paint and drywall came off with the sticky backing and now the metal on my window is showing. Horrible process trying to remove it. Its basically permanent once you place it so make certain when you install this perch you factor in all possibilities. I didn't realize that my blinds might be tempting for the cats to suddenly want to mess with since they never messed with them before I put this perch at that window.Once I removed this and realized the severe damage it did to the window, I replaced it with a small 33" cat tree perch that sits about the same as this did. Its portable, I can move it when I want and it won't damage the house. Oxgord, 33" Cat Tree, WhiteFor those of you wanting a permanent window perch, this is perfect but I won't be purchasing anything else that requires you to commit to damaging my walls, windows, etc. Its just not worth it. If your sill isn't deep you'll have to modify it. But it can be done.
If you don't have a deep window sill that allows the top to fit pretty far back the support piece on the bottom will be about 3" too short.I was pretty much stuck with this model because I had a baseboard heater right under the window. This was the only model I found that fit into the limited space. So I had to work with it.I ended up attaching a metallic tie plate onto the bottom face of the bottom piece that angles against the wall. I wanted to attach it to the top of the bottom support but a strap in the middle keeps it from fitting flush.Simpson Strong Tie TP57 Strong Tie PlateJust over a buck at your big box home improvement store. I slit a length of small tubing and attached it to the sharp edge so it wouldn't gouge into the wall. I didn't have help so I used two small C-clamps to test the 'fit' (it needs to be level) against the wall before attaching the plate with four screws. It's easy to align it because you can use the holes in the plate for alignment. The plate I bought had a more staggered pattern, which helped. (Home Depot)I think I attached the glued part at a very slight angle because the glue was so sticky you can't adjust it at all. This meant I couldn't simply attach the plate to the board at a right angle because it needed to be offset a little. The c-clamps allowed me to see how flush the metal edge fit...and adjust it accordingly before putting the screws in.I's not the prettiest thing but it works really well and is quite sturdy. I might spray paint the metal later to blend it against the wood.Be careful when you attach the glued edge because the glue is VERY sticky and you can't move it once any part of it is against the window sill. Doesn't work on narrow windowsills!
This appears to be well made and fun for the cat, but sadly, won't work unless you have the kind of windows that have sills that stick out three or so inches. Mine are very narrow, so the perch doesn't work. It doesn't state this anywhere in the description. I've had it for several weeks so can't even return it.

You'll need a window sill wider than 3 inches for this to work.
this will only work if you have a wide window sill. Mine is 3 inches and was not wide enough for the product to sit straight. Mine was always at a slant. The hook & loop worked great and stuck on the sill very well. It just was not designed well to fit on any sill.I am returning this item and asked Amazon to amend the description so others wouldn't purchase unknowingly.

Not worth it
For this item to work you need at least an 8" window sill. If you do not have a wide sill there is not enough space for the ledge to rest and the brace on the bottom is not adjustable so does not provide support and is completely useless. In addition it pulled the paint off of our window sill rather than attaching. I would not recommend this unless you have a wide window sill and are just looking for a padded place for your cats to lay.
