This part worked well on our Trek Y3 mountain bike. We replaced the old one that had a stripped hex bolt. You can always replace the stripped bolt but we wanted the quick release style.

I like it. It worked out for me because I have a 27.2 mm seat post and this clamp worked.

My son's bike had a seat clamp that required hex wrenches every time you wanted to adjust the seat height. I replaced it with this and it's worked out great. He can adjust the seat on-the-fly for whatever conditions he needs to ride.

When I bought a road bike, one of the things I really missed was the quick release seat post that my mountain bike had - I can carry my bike upright in my SUV if I take the seat off. So, this was a cheap and useful purchase! You have to make sure you tighten this down well, or your seat might wiggle a bit, by no fault of the design. And, as the other reviewers have posted, there is a lip on one side, so if you can't get it on, flip it over :)

Worked like a champ! Strong clamp, easy adjustment for a snug fit. Great to be able to adjust height of seat for guest riders without tools. Would buy again but I don't see the need in the near future as this is a durable product.
