Casio Men's AW48HE-8AV Ana-Digi Dual Time Watch

Maybe not the fanciest of gadgets, but certainly a classy selection.
I love this watch. In an age of smart watches and all kinds of fancy gadgets it's nice to get back to basics. I found myself unexpectedly enraptured with the combined analog and digital faces on the watch, as I was able to use it to view the time in two timezones at once. You'd be surprised how handy that can be after a while. I also frequently found myself using the alarm function, although I wouldn't recommend it for waking yourself up in the morning; and I was surprised by how useful the stopwatch can be.The watch, being small, doesn't have any numbers on the face, so if you need to know the *exact* time you'd do well to buy yourself a watch with a digital display. This will do that, but it might be advisable to buy a larger digital display if that's what you're going to be using it for.My only complaint is that setting the time can be a little fiddly, as you have to slam a button to get the watch's minute hand to progress by about 30 seconds at a time if I'm recalling properly. You can hold it down to get the time to progress faster, but if you happen to miss the correct time you'll have to go all the way back around again. That can be annoying if, for example, Daylight Saving Time has just ended. Also, my watch broke while I was washing the dishes at work because I completely misunderstood the phrase "water-resistant." Don't repeat my mistake, folks: Water-resistant and waterproof do not mean the same thing. This isn't the watch's fault--let me make that clear--that's just me being dumb. So, in summary, this is a great little watch for a reasonable price. Maybe not the fanciest of gadgets, but certainly a classy selection.

Nice but small
This watch should be listed as women’s watch not Men’s. It is normal size for a woman however because of my sight I normally purchase men’s for the bigger dial so I was a little disappointed. Also there is no backlight. The watch is nice though. Please change advertisement to woman’s Casio watch. Thank you.

Great watch, EXTREMELY small
I read another review prior to purchase from a man who warned that the watch was very small, sized similarly to a woman's watch. I didn't listen, purchased it, and was shocked at how small it actually is. It is SIGNIFICANTLY SMALLER than the F91-W, as a size comparison, or an Apple Watch. Probably about 2/3rds of the size. I do not like big watch faces, and was hoping for something similarly sized to the F91-W with an analog face. This should not be advertised as a unisex watch, at least not without some photos showing the scale.I initiated a return as soon as I opened it and saw how small it was.

Not quite what I expected
In the past 16 years, I have purchased and worn ~5 Casio AQ47-1E watches. They are great and relatively inexpensive. It's not cost-effective to replace the battery when it runs down after 3 years since the band will wear out shortly afterward and it isn't replaceable. When I was going to order another watch this time, I saw this watch and thought it looked very similar, but a bit dressier. I ordered it, but I do not like it as much as the other model. You can't tell in the pictures, but the band on this watch necks down to 1/2" wide instead of the 11/16" in the other model. It looks more like a ladies watchband in that regard. Also, the watchband is a full 1" longer in this model. That means the tail end sticks out the back of my wrist more when I am wearing it, which I don't like.

Great Watch
This is the 3rd one of these watches that I had have in the past 12 years! I love this watch - keeps great time, looks great and it is good to have an alarm/dual time for traveling. I've read the other reviews and the band is the weak spot with this watch. With care you can get 3 or 4 years out of one. I've replaced the band once on my second one, this time I knew that the battery and band needed to be replaced. At that point it is easier to replace the watch. Looks wise, - you don't feel foolish wearing it to the hardware store but it can certainly hold its own at a business meeting. I've received many compliments over the years, no one can believe the price vs. looks. I just hope they don't stop making this one!

Only used it for three year and run out of battery and have to discard the watch
Because can't change battery due to the battery housing design. A watch can only use for three year is a bad idea. Hope Casio reconsider their design to make this watch more environmentally friendly.

Great everyday watch
This watch does it all at a nice price. It has enough style for the office (unless you're an exec), it is waterproof and rugged enough for weekend and sports use. It has a small to mid size face which is good for people with smaller wrists. It all plastic which is a minus for most but great for me since I work in electronics where metal bands are a safety hazard.Pros: - Battery life is tremendous 3+ years. - Durability and ruggedness is very good. - Water-resistant - Unless you scuba, you don't have to take it off for anything. - Great quality at a low price.Cons: - The dial is not lighted if you really need to read it in the dark don't choose this watch. - It's not free

Superbe!

If you're a Casio fan then this is perfect
my boyfriend saw this watch on holiday and loved it - we are both big fans of the "classic" metal digital Casio watches, and this one was a nice varied version with a resin strap that you won't see every other Tom, Dick and Harry with. It's smart enough to be worn in the office, and durable enough to be worn every day at home, along with all the other Casio pros such as long lasting battery and being waterproof.
