No description on outer packet
I really have no baseline on which to form an opinion as I have never really used dried chickpeas in cooking before. However the product arrives exactly as shown in the image above but there are no description on how to prepare/directions for washing/ should the soaking water be discarded?/how long to soak/ or how long to cook. Also there is no indication as to when the chickpeas were packaged as this can be an indication as to how much cooking time they will require, due to the fact the older they are the longer they take, although there is a best before end date. They have made a nice accompaniment to my chilli recipe and taste good. I enjoy the product itself, though there should be more information on the label. Soaking them overnight in cold water ensures a shorter cooking time as opposed to vigorously boiling them for twenty minutes and then turning the pan off and letting them site for two hours. Would be fours stars if label was more informative.

Chick Peas Please
So much better than chick peas from a tin - inevitably they are too soggy from a tin. These are small and firm chick peas, like they are organic. Of course they need the overnight soak and then a slow cook, but this is all well worth it. You can then have them as firm or soft as you like, I like them firm so they need to be brought to boil and simmered for about an hour after the soak. Add anything you like to them while in the pot because you can eat the 'curd' like substance they produce by cooking. I cant find these on any high street and always get some more through Amazon when running low. A great staple food

Huge bag of really nice favoured chick peas but boy do they need some cooking. These are the slowest to cook I've ever bought. At least an overnight soak and two hours simmering. They are tasty though!

Last ages and taste great!
Well worth the extra trouble of soaking, then double cooking these (20 minutes initially, then dump water and recook for 40) as they are very tasty and good for you! I use them for a number of things from hummus to soups and they enhance everything they're in! Great to keep on hand as very versatile!
