Such fabulous extra soft pastels. Colours are so rich, blendable, covers a large area easily. I'm so happy I ordered them. They exceeded above & beyond my expectations. Worth every penny. 😊 They are worthy of a 5 star rating.

These pastels come in a well-packed cardboard box. The box is covered with an informative sleeve with the information about the product and the Koh-i-noor company. Inside the box you find an additional booklet about Koh-i-noor products. The pastels themselves sit in safe foam containers, which ensure that they are kept in place while transporting. These Extra soft pastels come in 48 amazing, vibrant colours, which can also be combined with Koh-i-noor's Gioconda soft pastel pencils (which also come in 48 colours) and hard and soft pastels, which come in more than 120 colours. The colour name and code can be found on each individual pastel. The colours are vibrant and easily blendable on both white and dark paper. In comparison to Koh-i-Noor's soft pastels these are indeed Extra soft and thus also a bit messier (which I love, but some might not). I absolutely love these pastens and hope they will come in a wider range of colours with time. Love these chalk pencils. They blend beautifully and a good selection of colours.

Good range of colours and soft pastels. Just not vibrant enough on pastelmat paper.This is a nice set for the amateur home artist and students who are priced out of the professional art supplies.

I bought these to use with my Rembrandt half sticks, which are on the firmer side of soft pastels. These are fabulous, so easy to use and feel luxuriously smooth. Contrary to other reviewers I actually like the wrappers. They are segmented so you can peel off just a small piece and use it like a crayon, or break them for wide strokes. You can see from my photo that they are not very crumbly and a couple of my favourites have been worn almost to a point! I think they are ridiculously cheap - working out at 50p each at today’s price. The colours are rich and bright, I just wish they did a larger set with some lighter tints. Perfect for beginners to try the extra soft pastels without breaking the bank and for more advanced artists to add to their collection.

These are lovely pastels. Initially I didn't want to get very soft pastels, as they are generally expensive and I didn't feel the need for them. There are so many different pastels available, with such a wide range of price points, that I have been able to use a range of cheaper products quite successfully. I'm just a beginner. However, after another order went a bit wrong, I looked again for a larger set of soft pastels and found these with good reviews.The box is larger than I expected, and the pastels are a good size. They do have the annoying plastic wrapper around each stick, which I haven't yet tried to remove. The box was well packaged and has a thin foam sheet and an extra cardboard layer over the tray of pastels, which is also foam.The pastels are beautiful to use. The softest ones I have tried. They don't seem overly crumbly, although I've only swatched them so far. The black and darkest blue seem harder than the others, which is a bit odd. Some of the sticks do have a few nibbles around the ends, presumably from packing, so I won't be smearing them on too vigorously - but I probably won't need to, as they're so very soft.There a good range of colours, with primaries, earth tones and greys, plus some secondaries including a good selection of greens.Very pleased with this set, and I'm sure they will add a lot to my work 😊

I understand why people hate the plastic wrap, but if you tried it, you will see how to crumble quickly, imagine if there's no plastic protection our pastels will be broken when they arrive to us. If you look closer to the plastic wrap, there are little arches to indicate where to tear. If you follow those mark, you could reveal a section at a time and keep the rest protected. That way even I accidentally drop my set, they remains protected.And as for the pastel quality itself, it's amazing, I love how easy to blend them and how rich the colour pigment is.

These soft pastels are excellent quality. Considerably better than most of the low cost alternatives. Not that much more expensive than their lower priced counterparts but significantly higher in quality. The amazon packaging is woefully inadequate though being the factory sealed item inside a box that is too big, without additional packing material. Seeing as how the pastels themselves are very good quality but let down by the method of packaging, the only option is three stars. Could actually be five stars but you can't have the item without it being delivered and that is the reason for the rating. Amazon need to do much better in this regard with delicate items, other mail order and online services manage to do so.

I just received these pastels and they live up to their name, they're extra soft and buttery and I just ordered another set.

The pastels are extra soft and creamy. excelent for final layering. Just remove small portion of the wrapping so that the stick hold together and use the broken half. They are a good balance of prismatic colours and chromatic greys. I am also ordering the soft (not extra soft) sticks.

Questi sono i miei primi pastelli secchi, per cui non ho esperienza nè un termine di paragone. Ho iniziato un primo disegno di prova e per ora mi stanno piacendo. Per non impiastricciarmi le mani, ho comprato dei guanti di cotone, e li sfumo con i cotton fioc. Per ora ci sto giocando, poi cercherò qualche tutorial.Li ho scelti dopo aver visto una recensione del pastellista Jason Morgan, e comunque penso siano un ottimo compromesso per chi è alle prime armi. Sono morbidi e si sfumano bene, e la confezione da 48 ha un ottimo range di colori. Considerato che i pastelli buoni costano anche molto di più (Faber-Castell, Sennelier, eccetera), tutto sommato si ha una buona gamma cromatica a un ottimo prezzo.A differenza di esperienze precedenti, stavolta con l'ordine ho avuto problemi per cui non ho avuto risoluzione.Infatti Amazon lo ha spedito a un hub sbagliato ma poi, invece di inoltrarmelo, lo hanno rimandato al mittente. Mi è stato emesso un rimborso, che risulta come se avessi chiesto io il reso.Poiché nel frattempo il prezzo era aumentato e nemmeno di poco, mi hanno consigliato di contattare il venditore (aysiboo) per provare a chiedere uno sconto su un nuovo acquisto, ma il venditore non si è nemmeno degnato di rispondere.Alla fine li ho dovuti comprare su un'altra piattaforma.

I use pastels all the time, and these are AWESOME.They don't release a lot of pastel dust like other brands do, being "extra soft", and blend beautifully.There are nice varieties of pastel brands, however, I would place these among high quality pastel brands. I have always wanted to purchase this brand, and I'm pleased I was finally able to get them. Great quality.
