Essential Foods Dog Food Superior Living 12.5 kg

This is the second bag of dog food that we have tried from Essential Foods. We have also tried the "Estate Living" variety which is very similar to "Superior Living" but with different main ingredients.Just as when we got the previous bag, as soon as it was delivered the dog was sniffing the cardboard box it was packaged in and was very excited as I opened up the bag. Our dog can be a very fussy eater indeed, but she absolutely loves both varieties from Essential Foods which is really unusual for her. She's normally a grazer and sometimes has to be tempted into eating her food with adding things in like tuna. No extra goodies are needed with this food.The composition of the food is excellent and it's much better quality than the standard with a very long list of ingredients: Acai berries, alfalfa, apples, blueberries, carrots, cauliflower, chicken, cranberries, eggs, ginger, ginseng, green tea, linseed, marigold, mulberries, oats, oranges, pears, peas, potatoes, probiotics, rosemary, salmon, seaweed, spinach, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, trout and vitamins/minerals. The crude protein content is high at 30% (compared to our current cheaper food which is about 18%).The "Superior Living" variety is essentially chicken, duck, salmon and trout while the "Estate Living" is chicken, duck, lamb and deer. All other ingredients are the same with the same crude protein content.She absolutely loves both foods and we want to switch from the other food we've been using. The only downside is that this food is rather expensive and twice the price of the current food. However, we can clearly see the difference and from the dog's point of view she thoroughly enjoys eating food from the Essential Foods range compared to what we have been giving her.Edited to add: we are now on our third bag of this food and the dog still loves it and loves it more than others we have tested recently.

Will be stucking with these Essential dog foods.Excellent ingredients,have tried the small kibble nautical which my eight year old jack russel enjoyed.She is a rescue and was fed Bakers all her life,plus really bad human food,(boiled sweets,cheese strings,chips) as soon as we got her we ve got her on decent food,initially try Macadams but it was abit rich for her,this superior living had her interested from the first bowl.She now has a,shiny coat,proper formed stools,gone are the smelly gloopy ones,and no more ear infections and scabby skin sores.My other dog a Collie,will pretty much each any thing,he was on Canagen,but ive found this range to be just as good and cheaper, a lot of thought gone in to making of the product, and also like the fact they help out various dog charities by donating some of their foods.ive also just ordered Estate living which has gone down just as well.recommend trying this food.

I am writing this review after I bought and fed one 12 kg sack of this excellent food. I had hoped it would be worth the expense - as it was a serious upgrade for my budget. It has exceeded my expectations. I have 2 staff cross deerhound bitches, both 14 years old and a westie cross sheltie of 12. All were looking old of late- low energy , dull coats and although I was buying hypoallergenic food , they were still a bit itchy and losing hair all year round. One sack along and my dogs have been transformed - super shiny, leaner and more active - they seem to enjoy eating and digest it well - darker , less bulky, but well formed stools - I can recommend wholeheartedly. I have slightly reduced the amount they are fed , so a sack goes a little further than in previous brands. I will be staying with this now . . . and I am so glad I bit the bullet and bought it in the first place . . . I am expecting they will be healthy now for longer . . . so the quality of life is worth the cost.

This range of food is excellent and it’s a real shame it’s not as easy to get on Amazon anymore. Manufacturers are great too in choosing the right food for your dog. Breeder discount direct from supplier is a lot cheaper, but as I no longer breed or show my dogs it’s a bit expensive from here. This is a top quality food, the best we have ever given to our two Labradors. The ingredients are first class, They love it and it appears to love them. Already after just one week, there is a noticeable improvement to their coats, behavior and their waste.Yes it is expensive but do not be put off by the apparent high price, you feed less of this food than just about any other food on the market so overall it costs less per dog per day. Highly recommended!

A very good product. My elderly dog is doing well on this food, no more upset stomachs, good coat and has built and maintained more muscle. I also give her You Move joint supplement, I think it combines well with this food and she has less stiffness, moves more easily and is more playful.

Finally found a food that both my dogs can eat with absolutely no flare ups of allergies. Good price, good food, happy and healthy dogs. Only wish it was a 15kg bag, only lasts 20 days in my house.

My Staffy loves this product & looks very well on it. Nice shiney coat, bright eyes & easy for controling her weight.Amazing ingredients. Highly reccomend.
