I can't believe I've used bread bins for some 40 years instead of one of these. Bread bins however expensive, are really difficult to keep clean - crumbs build up like magic, and if you don't keep them spotless, mould spores take root, especially in damp climates.This bag is brilliant. My homemade bread is keeping much better. Not one single piece of bread has gone mouldy, even when I left a crust in the bag while away for a few days. It went hard but did not grow mould. It is simplicity itself to step outside the back door, turn the lining inside out and give it a quick shake.I'll never use a bread bin again.As far as this particular bag is concerned compared to other bread bags, it is more expensive than other brands, and the pattern is a bit dated, but the French are very fussy over their food so I bought it on that basis.Both the inner and outer are cotton, the liner feels plastic but more flexible. The bag breathes because the bread is not in contact with the plastic.

I purchased a bag in April & have continuously had bread going mouldy (sooner than the other half of loaves kept in the paper bag provided by my local bakery). I have just unpicked the top seam to look at the ‘micro-breathable’ middle layer - it looks & feels very much like a good quality PLASTIC. The bag has survived many 40degree washes, chemical treatment & sun-drying. Disappointing as I was specifically trying to avoid plastic at the time of purchase.

I would give this bread bag six stars if I could! It is the only product I have found that really does extend the freshness of bread and inhibits mould growth for many days. I'm not quite sure how or why it works, but the unique combination of cotton and polycotton materials actually does work. Highly recommended even though it is quite expensive.

After reading the reviews of lots of bread bags i picked this one and i am soo glad that i did. I bake my own bread and now i couldnt be without this bag . It keeps bread fresher for longer than I've ever managed to store it before. The only downside is the dated pattern on it , why they chose chilli's for a bread bag is beyond me !

Initially this bag worked perfectly, but after about 6 months of usage, the plastic bag on the inside came loose, and now it is simply a cotton bag that doesn't really keep our home-made bread fresh at all. So yeah, there is a plastic liner on the inside of the bag, but ours is now loose meaning that it doesn't cover the bread (it sits loose on the inside at one end of the bag).We still use the bag, but put it inside a bread bin, and even then I don't think it's keeping the bread very fresh. Would be better off to use paper bags, but we don't want to be wasteful. We'll be looking to buy a new bread bag soon.

I bought as advertised, to store home made bread. It is keeping it soft and fresh. So doing what I needed it for. I must admit I returned to the website to check I had bought the right one as the design showed vegetables and I thought I had made a mistake.

I thought this bag was very expensive, but after reading reviews decided to give it a go as i have started making my own bread. Well all i can say is it is well worth the money, keeps the bread fresh for days so pleased i have purchased this.

Keeps the bread fresh..enough room for 2 loaves. Easy to clean and store
