Supercrafts Merlin Clear Invisible Nylon Sewing Thread (200 Metres)

Needed to rehem some heavy curtains and this was perfect for the job.

Did the job in the end, so happy with the product, but caused a few headaches. First bobbin fill was tricky as the thread kept hopping off the spool and looping around the thread holder so had to guide the thread off the spool for the entire bobbin fill. Machining has to be at a slow pace or the thread often loops around spool holder or snatches in tension plates, halfway through the job the machine grinds to a halt, fabric is stuck in place and, when checking underneath, the bobbin is lifted out of place with thread where thread shouldn't be. Anyway, cut all the thread out, got the bobbin out and the bobbin is in pieces??? Filled another bobbin....... try as i might, i couldn't get the bobbin off the holder, husband tried, nothing, in fact broke the bobbin pulling at it so decided cut the thread which in turn allowed the bobbin to come off easily. Had a brainwave and third filled the bobbin this time and managed to finish the job. So the moral of this rather long winded story is, if you buy this thread it's a little tricky to use but it is manageable if you guide it off the spool when filling a bobbin and only fill said bobbin one third full, sew at slow steady rate then it's okay.

Bought to sew an embroidery together. As there were different colours to be stitched this was ideal as the stitching was invisible to the eye.

This product is soooo annoying lol. Because its "invisible" I struggled to find the end in the first instance. I have to use a "needle threader" so I can thread the needle and because it is nylon it has a mind of its own! I m also struggling to tie the ends off as the thread is so slippery as its nylon. On most reels there is a small cut on the edge so that you can put the end of the thread in so it doesnt unravel and so that you can find it the next time you use it, this doesn't have that and I have to tape the end onto the top of the reel as it constantly unravals.I keep persevering with it as I use it to suspend needle felted angels and because its "invisible" they look like they are flying!

Took ages to find start of it!! Used to sew press studs on baby's cardigan. Worked well as can't see on outside

this is good thread ONCE you can find the end! it's well embedded. couldn't manufacturer use the old method of cutting a notch in side of the end cap and catching the thread end in the notch?

Not very good for using on a sewing machine. Got very tangled and I lost a lot of thread and my machine bobbin trying to wind it. It would be ok for hand stitching but unfortunately that’s not what I bought it for.

Just what I needed,nice and fine.
