PetromaxFire Pot ft3 (Dutch Oven) (Flat Base)

Lovely size for up to 4 people. Very solid,great for cooking over an outdoor fire with the even heat distribution. Would highly recommend this product practical and aesthetically pleasing.

Got this as a gift, but its exactly what I wanted.After a fair bit of research I opted for the ft3 size as I wanted to be able to cook a reasonable size meal at home on a fire pit, but not too big that I couldn't take it on wild camps (it's 5kg so I'd only take it on stealth camps not too far from the car).I think this size is perfect for my needs, I managed to cook a whole small shoulder of lamb in it, and it would comfortably take a casserole or stew for 3/4 people. I also wanted the version with feet so I could stand it on the hot coals.It's beautifully made, and is real quality. The clever touches are the feet on the lid so it can be used as a skillet, the notch in the lid and base that can be open and closed to release steam, and the strong bail arm that is attached on opposing sides so that the pan will hang evenly when full.The pan comes pre seasoned, which I was skeptical of, but I was surprised to be able to sear a shoulder of lamb in the dry pan with no oil and have zero sticking, honestly it was like using an expensive non stick pan and I know this will only improve with use.I made sure I cleaned it very carefully with no soap, just hot water and wooden utensils. The oven dried it and lightly oiled for storage.I think this is amazing value for money, it will last forever with a little care, and is super versatile and indestructible (as long as you don't drop it, let it rust, or pour cold water into a screaming hot pan and crack it).Everything I've cooked so far has been incredible. Only thing I'd add is that mine didn't come with the lid lifter, which i purchased separately-this is absolutely essential if you're cooking over fire, with coals on the lid as it gets extremely hot and retains heat fir a very long time

The size was exactly what I had expected. I watched numerous youtube reviews which detailed the usage and the specifications all prior to my purchase.The oven itself is good quality well finished cast iron and the lid fits very well.The oven comes pre seasoned and all that is required prior to first use is a scrub in clean warm water.The ft-3 holds enough for two generous portions of stew or similar..You'd have to cook your rice, spuds or other items seperately.The ft-3 isn't big enough to roast a chicken or baize a big joint but it will easily hold chilli, curry, casserole etc.I also purchased the petromax Ft3 carry bag which is a must for transportation.All in all I think this is a great quality product but they're certainly not cheap either!!

The description on amazon gives the following dimensions for this product: 25.5 x 22 x 12 cm. The widest diameter is around 21 cm. Apparently it is common to measure the outside dimensions, so just bear this in mind. Other than this the pot works well as a dutch oven.

Der Gußtopf wird im Smoker zue Saucenzubereitung verwendet, er ist von ausgezeichneter Qualität, was den Preis völlig rechtfertigt. Der Topf kommt auch bei Outdooraktivitäten - Mittelalterlager - auf freien Kochstellen (Lagerfeuer) zum Einsatz und zeigt auch dort seine Qualität, was man unbedingt einhalten muss ist die Pflegeanleitung, dann gibt es keinerlei ProblemeJederzeit wieder
