High quality simple and very fun game.
This is a simple yet enjoyable game. Essentially it is balancing chickens, haybales and wagon wheels on a seesaw and you take it in turns to remove a piece to gain points without toppling the whole thing. Each game lasts only a few minutes and helps kids with fine motor skills (including slow movements), principles of balance and numeracy. All the pieces are wooden, painted and made to a high quality. A fun and educational game for all the family.

Good Game, Good Game!
Age - 4+Players - 2-4Time - 10 minFirst off I want to say that the components and production of this game are second to none, Blue Orange Games have knocked this out of the park. All the pieces are nicely made and are solid wood, they are also fantastically coloured, this really helps bring the game to life and makes it very tactile, especially for the younger players. The game itself is as simple as they come. You take it in turns removing pieces from a balanced perch without making the perch fall, each piece has a score value. Whoever collected the most points wins. Whoever made the perch topple is deducted 5 points from their score. That really is it.I like this game and the kids did too, they were instantly attracted to the pieces and had fun playing the game. There is some educational value in the game but I don’t think that is this game’s strong point. It’s strength, which is it’s simplicity, allows everyone of all ages to be involved very quickly, the game plays very naturally. The game is very easy to set up and play, it plays in a few minutes and you can have numerous games in a very short period of time. The problem is that there really is little to keep the kids coming back, because of it's simplicity there is no real longevity in this game, so although it was easy to get them playing for a bit, it didn’t really hold their attention, for the youngest of children this may not be such a problem, I was playing this game with kids aged 6-12 and a few adults (old kids). All in all it’s a good game, easy to play and teach, and has fantastic components. There is a lot to like about this simple game. Only 4 stars though because I don’t think it’s really got any longevity in it, which is fine as long as you know that going in.

Family fun game
This is a cute and simple little game. Basically it is a balance and you take turns to remove counters, barrels or chickens which earn different amounts of points. You get a penalty if you cause the see saw to fall.A whole game only takes about 5 minutes. The pieces are all brightly painted wood and are reassuringly solid. The great strength of the game is that literally the whole family can play. We've had lots of fun playing with our 7 and 5 year olds.

A bit like Jenga but colourful and more fun for children.
It is a great balancing game for smaller and bigger children and adults alike as well.It reminds us of Jenga but it is more fun for children, it is colourful, there are small and big chicks, wagon wheels and hay stacks rather than plain blocks. The whole set is made of quality painted wood, except for little felt bits on the top of chicken heads. The point is to remove blocks from the see-saw without throwing down the whole construction down, taking turns and collecting as many points as possible. Amount of points for each block type is written underneath to make things easier.

A loveable, fun family game.
Chickyboom is a really great example of a simple game concept, which you barely even need to look at the rulebook for to instinctively understand. Not just that, but the whole set is made to the highest quality and is one of the most visually attractive judgement/dexterity games I have seen. Even the box you keep it in is good quality. The set is made up of a see-saw base and board onto which each player can take it in turns to stack and arrange the pieces in whatever way he or she likes, and then place it onto the base so it balances. Each player then has a turn removing one piece at a time until all the pieces have been removed or the board topples.Pick up a wagon wheel (of which there are 7) and you score 1 point, a hay bale (7 of which again) scores 3, and the small and large chickybooms (3 of each) score 2 and 3 respectively. Topple the arrangement and you are deducted 5 points. If you pick up a piece and the arrangement starts to wobble, you are allowed to let go and take another piece. It's so simple yet so much fun, and we all loved it in our house.

A brilliant educational family game
I think this game is unique, I've never seen one like it before. I love toys that are educational and fun to play with; the child doesn't realise they are learning to count, dexterity and logical thinking because the game is such fun. Even the adults in my household love to play this one and there's always the chance that the youngest player will win which makes it much more fun for them. The toy is completely made up of brightly coloured wooden pieces.A seesaw is balanced on an arched shaped red wooden box and all of the game pieces are arranged in order you decide. Starting with the youngest player, each person removes one piece from the seesaw. The game pieces are chickens, wagon wheels and hay bales (my grandson says they are coins and barrels which is a good description of them) have different point values, the highest being 3 points. The aim of the game is to get the most points - not as easy as it looks when most of the pieces have been removed. If the pieces topple off the seesaw during your move then you have lost.We love this game and it would make an excellent gift for any youngster (or 50 ish sister who's a bigger kid than any of my grandchildren !!)
