Neet® HDMI Extender over Single Cat 6 with IR Control + HDMI Loop out - 1080p Full HD 3D - 50m - N72Pro V2

I've been messing about with HDMI distribution since 2010 and it's generally been a headache..usually sync/HDCP/snow issues. It's really only in the last couple of years that I've got my setup to work to a wife friendly standard. My current gear consists of an ATEN VS482 4 port switch with (two) mirrored HDMI outputs (tv and projector). I wanted to add a 3rd display (tv in the kitchen) requiring a 20m cable run under the floor and around some tight bends (ie not suitable for HDMI run). Since this unit has an HDMI pass through on the transmitter (source end) it also acts as a 1 x 2 splitter so that was one less extra box I had to buy. I also bought the NEET Cat6 cable since its a reasonable price and puts you in a better position if you hit issues.Setup is easy and note that the receiver (display end) unit doesn't require a power supply (this isn't clear from the spec and is an added bonus) in other words it works like a PoE device.Everything worked first time although I noticed when playing high bitrate blu-ray movies that the picture on the display would flicker, After checking the manual I realised you have set the 3 dip switches on the receiver unit appropriate to the cat6 cable length. Once I'd completed this I had all 3 of my displays working great and am able to switch between sources with no HDCP/snow/sync issues that I was half expecting. Cat6 distribution is deffo the way to go on HDMI nowadays, I don't know if this is a genuine HDBaseT gadget or not but from a practical setup point of view it's so much easier to work with in comparison to doing HDMI runs.

I decided that I wanted to watch my Freesat in my kitchen when my kids play PS4 in the lounge. I wanted to watch what was recorded as well as live TV.I'm sending my Humax Freesat signal from my lounge to my kitchen.[I needed 2 x HDMI cables to complete the task with a cat6 cable with 24awg copper core]I ordered a Neet cat6 cable / 20m / 24awg copper core cable to match this device!First I plugged in the technology to prove it worked.I needed to dig out an extra HDMI cable for the lounge as the HDMI output goes from my Freesat into the Transmitter Box supplied. But the you need to then put a HDMI cable from the pass thru Transmitter Box into it's original destination. In my case; my HDMI selector [pre-TV].The Receiver Box went into the kitchen; I connected them with the cat6 cable (20m); and then plugged another HDMI cable from the Receiver Box into the TV.A perfect picture with no artifacts. I got a full 1080p over the 20m cat6 cable.So then I got to work....My SDS drill hammered a hole through the lounge wall. Then again attacked the kitchen wall.I had 2 x enclosure boxes [IP44/IP56] for outside which I passed the cat6 cable through and screwed to the outside wall of the lounge & kitchen.I got some 7mm cable clips and clipped the cat6 cable from the lounge to the kitchen on the outside wall.Perfection!I have a Logitech Harmony Smart Control in the lounge, so with a Humax S1000 Freetime Player on my Android phone + the Harmony control on my Android phone/tablet; I didn't need to use the IR repeaters.The Humax and Harmony blaster are on my home network.I've even programmed my Harmony software for my Android to "Watch Kitchen TV"; where it will turn on my Humax, but not my Amp + TV in the lounge.The Neet HDMI Extender replaced my "Belkin @TV" as it would sometimes drop out and the delay due to buffering would wind me up (e.g. hit pause or rewind on the remote and you'd wait 3 seconds for the response)....Now the Belkin is for watching TV in the garden on an Android tablet!It's was so successful that I went to the loo, came back and one child was playing PS4 in the lounge and the other was watching TV in the kitchen!Hmmmmm....perhaps it's time to put another Humax in the lounge to allow different live channels + recordings with a Neet HDMI True Matrix next to it. Then with another Neet HDMI Extender I could start to send different sources (Humax1, Humax2, PS4 etc...) to different televisions!!!!!

My whole house is wired-up with relatively cheap CAT5/6 so this was definitely taking a punt as far as whether it would work.I've had the 2x CAT5 Neet video sender for a couple of years to send Sky to the bedroom. With no HDMI-through I've used the old system in conjunction with a separate Neet HDMI splitter.First and foremost, it DID work over my cheap cabling, but with some speckled artefacts in certain (usually darker) areas of the image. I overcame this by cranking the Sky box's video output down to 720p which wasn't too much of a trade off.Secondly, now having a HDMI-through on the sender unit means I could do away with the splitter. This didn't necessarily free-up an electrical socket for me as I had hoped because the new sender needs its own power supply (included). The previous 2x CAT5 version didn't.Where this item made big gains for me was in freeing-up the extra network socket. I have a number of network points in the loft which feed to TVs, Music Streamers and the home CCTV unit.Finally, worth noting I thought I could get away with using the IR eyes from the old unit. This isn't the case, you have to use the new ones provided despite having the same plug. I noticed the new IR eyes are less sensitive than the olders ones so you have to think more carefully about placement.In summary, a great choice to swap from the older 2x CAT5 to the 1xCAT5 version. It simplifies the system and I bet would be spot-on for 1080p provided you have suitable network cabling.

This is a really good product. To be honest I was a bit dubious beforehand but I am so glad I took the plunge and purchased this. I have used these Neet 1080p HDMI extenders to extend Sky TV from my lounge up into the master bedroom. Using CAT 6 UTP outdoor cable (not shielded) at approx 22 metres long. Easy to follow instructions and had it set up and running within half an hour. A power supply is provided and is only needed at the transmitter (source) end. Good quality HDMI cables used, 3 in total. Don’t forget to change the picture settings on your Sky box from “Automatic” to “1080i” otherwise you may see some picture distortion. The unit has three little built in quality adjusting/booster switches which you can tweak to suit your overall cable length. We previously had the Sky operating off the RF2 output via coax cable but picture quality wasn’t overly great, with this Neet extender the picture quality is much much better ..almost like you’re in the same room as the Sky box. Good control via the little infrared probes that come with the unit. It’s working well so far, touch wood.

I bought these devices for my sister who was using an old Digi Sender to send the Sky HD signal from one room to another. For some time she had been experiencing interference on the signal received even though it was a reasonably small distance between the two devices.After some research it seemed as though this solution was a good and relatively inexpensive option.It was easy to setup and get working and my sister now has a good stable signal on her remote TV.I did purchase the more expensive Neet cable to go with the devices to ensure that if issues were encountered it could not have been suggested it was down to the quality of the cable. For the small amount of extra cost I think this is a worthwhile plan.The only challenge is feeding the wire between the two devices, which in our case was not a big issue as the rooms were close by. This is likely to be the biggest challenge as the rest of the setup is straightforward.Would I buy it again? Yes.Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

I'm a professional AV installer and normally spec HDbase-T products to do this job. These would normally cost in the region of £180 for a pair.Sometimes I need a lower priced alternative for cost sensitive clients so as I have used other neet products with success, decided to get a pair of these to test.They are delivered in standard neet packaging and the kit contains everthing you need to push hdmi point to point over cat6 cable.If you are not comfortable terminating cat cable yourself it can be bought ready terminated but make sure it is solid core, not stranded and fully copper - some cheaper cat6 is copper coated aluminium and is a poor cousin.The boxes themselves have a nice flat base which allows them to easily be attached to the back of a wall mounted tv and can be powered from a mains socket with the supplied adapter or from a socket with usb built in. They only need a 1a supply but you'll have to purchase the correct cable.The picture quality is as good as any kit I have used professionally but mains rf can and does cause occasional drop outs with my test pair but this automatically corrects itself within 1-2 seconds. I specifically have 1 light switch that causes this but suspect that the switch is probably at fault.Overall they are fantastic for the price , easy to fit and work surprisingly well.Recommended.

From my experience this is the most forgiving "Balun" type device over other brands that I have tried. I love the fact that it includes a splitter at the "transmitter" end (HDMI loop out). The golden rule to make sure you have that perfect picture at the receiving end is to always use good quality cable. Two things to remember for good cable: 1) 24 AWG copper cable. CAT5e/CAT6 and CAT7 will all work as long as it is 24 AWG copper cable. So CAT7 flat 32 AWG will not work. 2) Copper cable is important so none of that CCA or Copper Coated Aluminium cable. A lot of cheap CAT cable is CCA. I have perfect 3D HD picture from SKY box after using 35m of CAT6. If price is no option and you want the ultimate HDMI extender then look at NEET HD base T products but why pay 3 x the price when the N72PRO works great. There is also HD Bit T products - but I have not got round to testing this yet. Danny at NEET answered all my email questions within an hour so not only great product but great service. Did I also mention the free postage - 48hr Royal Mail tracking.

I am one of nature's great cynics so, although the reviews were mainly good, I was preparing myself for disappointment. After all, it seemed to be too good to be true - inexpensive and efffective! Delivery was quick and so was installation - the 20m Cat 6 cable ordered at the same time had already arrived directly from Neet. I am delighted to say that installation was simple and everything worked first time although a little tweak of the DIP switches (described in the instruction leaflet) did improve picture quality. In short, if you need to extend an HDMI output to a remote HD TV whilst retaining remote control over the transmitting device (in my case, a BT TV box) don't hesitate - this product does the job. Totally!
