I practice with this board a couple times. It's a great tool for practicing suturing skills and has a good variety of wounds. The material is durable and should hold up to the 100 practices as advertised. The color coding shows wound depth tan for skin, yellow for SQ, and red for muscle. My teenage son even enjoyed practicing with it. Fun and useful.

The suture pad has a variety of laceration wounds, so you can practice bunch of different suturing techniques.Silicon seems little soft but it doesn't tear.I tried vertical mattress, interrupted, and continuous interlocking techniques. All works well with the pad.

Great for suture practice!!
I found this practice skin to be valuable in my FNP education and felt like it helped me practice suturing well!! The material is durable and allows for multiple upon multiple attempts and is forgiving when it comes to skill. The differing shapes and curves allows you to practice all types of suturing and even allows for tight pull!

Perfect for practice
As someone who has done most suturing on pigs feet, this was a little bit of an adjustment but it is still a great practicing tool! It’s small enough to take it with you anywhere you go. The material allows it to be stable on a flat surface without movement and the sutures flow well through it.

Rips easily
This product is not durable at all. If you are trying to practice, it might be good for one or 2 practices per cut; however, after that, it will easily rip. I understand this is the only product really available for medical students to practice on, but it’s just not worth the $$$$ at all.

Rips easily. Not like the real thing
It helped me get the hang of the motions and knot tying before my ED rotation. It’s way easier to suture on real patients than on this thing though. It’s hard to practice anything other than simple interrupted because it rips easily. Useless for running subcuticular.

Great pad and is of great quality
Great pad and is of great quality. Feels like real skin with good feedback as you use it. This is really a great way to master it plus great support videos to guide you. Customer service contact you with any other help they can offer. Would recommend this to everyone trying to learn.

Good for finishing avulsions, but gaps too big and weak
This item was exactly as described, and was great practice, but if I were to buy it again I would find one without the pre-made wounds. Unlike a real laceration, these wounds have missing material, more akin to an avulsion, however the edges of this material don't have the same strength as skin, and the suture thread pulls straight through the material when enough tension is applied to bring the edges together. This was quite problematic. The worst culprits were the large oval shaped areas. That being said this was great material for me to learn this concept and understand why what was happening was happening. Like I said, I would recommend seeking the same material but in a solid sheet to practice closing lacerations or surgical incisions.
