Evo App-Connected Coding Robot (Black)

This is my second Evo, so Im familiar with the typical glitches.First, I will say bang for the buck, this is an amazing product. I still recommend it to my friends. However this review is anything but amazing. This review is the result of a real world hands on demonstration that completely fell flat. Unlike other reviewers that get paid in free products, I confess this review is biased from spending real world money and being let down.This robot was bought for my sons birthday. I had the robot delivered to my place of work. I thought it would be nice to show it off to my fellow engineers. At first they were impressed. The sounds and LEDs were impressive. The amazement stopped there. "Look!", I said, "Watch it follow a line." Turning it on and calibrating it did little more than it spinning around, then taking off in some random direction. My coworkers laughed. Being enigeers we know not everything is perfect. I conintued to sell the strong points of the robot. I pulled up the Ozoblockly websight and raved about the programming. This was most impressive and well received. Being engineers, we love this stuff for our kids. Then the disappointment again. Because I was demonstrating the Evo on my workstation, i didn't have bluetooth and didnt feel like doing a USB transfer. I thought I'd show them the novelty of programming the Evo by holding it to the screen. Once again it failed miserably. Calibration to the screen did nothing. Following the directions, hold power button for two seconds and wait for the flashing white light, then hold to the screen. Nice try. The robot acts stupid and tries to spin its wheels. I opt to try programming anyway. I did get the flasing greenlight for a moment, but never get all the way through loading a simple program before the robot just bombs out.Long story short, the demonstration was cool, but fell flat with all the glitches. I don't want to say the bot i got was defective. I've had all these exact same issues with the first Evo I bought. I learned to work around the bugs. I still think this is an amazing robot, but be perpared to learn all the glitches. I will be presenting this robot to my son tonight, and I'm already regretting it. I know he'll get frustrated with things not working as advertised. Still, we'll try getting through all the qwirks and hope the programming will go easier.

Bought this for my daughter the Christmas before last and she spent some time with it initially, but quickly got frustrated with it. It sat on the shelf for a long time, and I finally decided to check it out myself. I can see why she set it aside...completely inconsistent behavior....seems to be working the way the documentation describes one minute, then unexpected behavior. The documentation and how-to videos are a joke as well. Wish I would have returned it off the bat. Really disappointed!

We bought this for our 9 year old daughter for Christmas. To our surprise our 12 year old son and his 12 to 13 year old friends put the Xbox down for a day to join her in teaching this little robot how to dance. I highly suggest getting the starter pack along with the ozobot

Was awesome until it stopped working after 2 daysCan’t get it to reset. We are extremely sad as it wasn’t a cheap present. Hate to pay so much money only to not be able to use it.

We bought this for my son's robotics class two months ago and it is already broken! The return window is up so I am out $100. This bot can do a lot and was a lot of fun while it worked. It looks to be that the tread on the wheel is messed up. I wish I could recoommend this bot, but can't due to it's very short life.

This is a great gift for children and others I suppose that want to have "robotic" playtime by making colored paths to give decisions of movement to the robot. Kids generally are enamored by its small size and play with it. However, after about two months, it loses its appeal. That being said, this is going to vary on your child. Choose wisely in buying a kit like this. Better purchased for places that want to re-use it with new faces so that they can engage with it for the time needed as it would have better use of its purchase.

Cool product. But there are currently Bluetooth connectivity issues with the latest iPhone software. I called Evo support and they told me they are working on it, but until it's fixed, you have to restart Bluetooth and the phone before each use, which is a pain.

Stopped holding a charge within 2 months of purchase but worked just long enough to pass return period.

Una quantità sorprendente di funzionalità racchiuse nelle sue dimensioni, non molto più grande di un Bacio Perugina.Nella confezione dal packaging veramente studiato in ogni particolare (vedi foto) si trovano quattro pennarelli colorati, un "campo da gioco" in cartone, una serie di Card per imparare a codificare, vari adesivi per i giochi che può "imparare", un cavo di ricarica micro USB e una piccola custodia.L'Evo è il secondo robot di Ozobot e, come il suo predecessore Bit, è un gadget delle dimensioni di una palla da golf che si muove su pavimenti o sul tavoli, rispondendo ai comandi che gli impartirete: puoi codificare Evo semplicemente disegnando delle linee colorate su carta. Un sensore ottico può rilevare di che colore è l'inchiostro e seguirà una linea nera di base e ad esempio accelerare quando passa sopra un puntino blu ad esempio.Ma siamo onesti: questa roba è davvero noiosa e Ozobot lo sa.Da qui il grande aggiornamento di Evo: un sistema di programmazione completo che consente agli utenti di programmare le azioni direttamente nel robot tramite PC o APP per smartphone.Il programma per PC, OzoBlockly, offre quattro diversi livelli di difficoltà, che vanno da una modalità per principianti solo a icone a una versione avanzata piuttosto complessa, completa di diverse funzioni matematiche. Gli utenti ambiziosi possono programmare Evo per "ricordare" numerose serie di colori ed eseguire evoluzioni davvero divertenti ed elaborate. I ragazzi potranno lanciarsi nel mondo della programmazione giocando!Può anche essere guidato manualmente come un automobilina radiocomandata, tramite un'intuitiva app di controllo per smartphone che permette di farlo anche parlare tramite il suo speaker, fare giochi di colori grazie i suoi potentissimi 5 led RGB, oppure può essere lasciato da esplorare come un Roomba. (Si dice che gli Evos interagiscano tra loro, ma purtroppo ne ho solo uno).Evo ha un'idea chiara, ma non è esattamente plug and play. Il processo in due passaggi richiesto per codificare Evo è strano e complicato. Esegui l'app Evo sul tuo telefono o tablet, ma successivamente esegui la codifica effettiva in un browser web separato. Quando sei pronto per l'esecuzione, dici manualmente al browser di inviare il codice all'app, quindi l'app invia il codice al robot.Si tratta di una serie di passaggi complicati e che probabilmente porteranno qualsiasi giovane ad abbandonare qualsiasi lavoro di programmazione complesso dopo alcuni aggiornamenti frustranti del codice.Se lo volete prendere come strumento educativo, Evo è un vincitore e posso dire che risulta incredibile cosa può fare nonostante le sue dimensioni irrisorie. Se invece lo volete come giocattolo,per me è un enorme "meh", molto meglio una qualsiasi macchinina radiocomandata o ,visto il prezzo elevato, qualche altro gioco interattivo e che accende l'ingegno tipo un LEGO Technic Radio Control.

Le prospettive offerte dall'evo sono strabilianti, imparare linguaggi di programmazione giocandoli in modo tangibile non ha prezzo. Il problema è però il software di gestione: app interfaccia bluetooth e programma sul website non funzionano! Le prospettive quindi calano infinitamente potendo solo fargli seguire i percorsi con i codici colore... helpdesk della casa produttrice non risponde alle richieste di aiuto

L'oggetto è molto sofisticato e anche se è indicato per bambini, ha bisogno comunque di una supervisione di adulti. Si tratta di un robot che può essere guidato sia tramite una app che tramite delle "piste" di pennarello nero e colorato che il bambino può comporre su fogli bianchi imparando che determinate sequenze di colore fanno compiere al robot determinate azioni. Questo modello è "evo", più evoluto del " bit" e ha molte funzionalità tra cui suoni e luci di diversi colori. Mio figlio si diverte moltissimo a " programmare " le piste . abbiamo avuto un problema con il primo robot ricevuto perché solamente dopo un mese ( e devo dire che mio figlio lo ha tenuto con cura) non emetteva più suoni. Do 5 stelle perché amazon me lo ha sostituito in un solo giorno e perché non si tratta di un semplice giocattolo: è molto di più, basta saperlo usare.

Niedlich. Mit witzigen funktionen und tönen. Der Ozobot ist von jedermann leicht zu programmieren. Keine Programierkentnisse notwendig. Wer den in der Hand hat, ist begeistert.Nicht nur für Kinder. Der Roboter ist mit einer Grundsoftware ausgestattet, welche das sofortige ausprobieren ermöglicht. Das Programmieren über APP ist kein muss.

Il robot è un ottimo strumento per introdurre i bambini al mondo dell'informatica e specialmente la programmaIone/robotica. Il sw è fatto molto bene. Il robot è molto divertente sia per bambini che per adulti.
