Edexcel GCSE 9-1 Mathematics Practice Papers: Foundation Paperback – 22 Sept. 2017

I had delayed my review as I wanted to use the book over a period of several weeks with a Foundation student. (I am a tutor.) I can now say, having worked through most of the book with him, that I can thoroughly recommend it. Instead of giving him the papers 'as papers', timed, I used the book diagnostically, ie we worked through the questions together, digressing with extra practice whenever there was one he couldn't do without help. He is targeting for Grade 5 and I found the harder questions sufficiently challenging for him.

Although these were designed for Edexcel, they could be useful for other exam boards. They also have solutions, which have more explanations than the materials provided by the exam boards.

I received a free copy of these papers in exchange for some pre-publishing feedback. They are an extremely useful resource, and as a Maths tutor I will make very good use of them. The questions match the Edexcel style, but the papers would also be useful to students studying other exam boards as the content is the same. The worked solutions are very thorough. Practice papers are the best preparation for Maths exams, and these are very good practice papers.
