So convenient and fast
I am not a computer wizard, I bought this to upgrade the C drive on an older laptop. However, I got a new laptop instead - and use this as backup storage. A lot smaller than mechanical disks and no moving parts. Total win.

Looks like USB 2.0 speed only... SLOOOOOW!!!
Mine is NVME, works fine, easy to assembleBUTas NVME is very fast, I conncted it to USB 3.0 but it is sooooo slooooow like USB 2.0.How can someone choke NVME like that? You better buy a perndrive USB 3.0 - it will be like 3x faster.

Orico probably the best for enclosures.
This product is used to house a drive removed from my laptop, that I had replaced to gain internal storage and install a new operating system. Orico is a make that I trust, having purchased other drive enclosures from them. Neat enclosure, easy to install drive, fit for purpose and no noticeable loss of speed in enclosed drive. Excellent quality.

Simply got very hot and refused to work - Waste of time!
I had a 512GB SSD I pulled from my SteamDeck, thought I might be able to use it to make a 512GB USB backup device after replacing the SSD in my SteamDeck. I tried to use this, it assembled fine but about 90 secs after plugging it in it got extremely hot. I made sure the SSD was seated properly but nothing worked and so I gave and for £10 I just threw it in the bin as it obviously doesn't work with the smaller SSD, it's dangerous as it was very hot and likely to either fry your USB ports probably fried my SSD. Waste of time!

Simple screwless install and feels sturdy
My M.2 sata drive slotted nicely into the case and secured with a rubber stud. The case slides over and locks with a simple end-piece. No screwdrivers needed.

Cheap enclosure to repurpose an old drive
It works fine using an older 256gb micron SATA recovered from a broken laptop. The thermal pad doesn't seem to make contact with the aluminum shell so not sure what the point of that is. Tool-less Installation is good. All in all, a good way to use an older drive. Keep in mind it is not compatible with newer NVMe drives.

Doesn't work
the SSD could barely fit, and when it did, did not work anyways. My system recognized the adapter but said no ssd attached
