Trick (DELUXE EDITION)

Upon first listen, I felt like any twenty something with a few years off guitar lessons and drug problem could make an album like this. But there is more too it. The slacker element is definitely there. There is some Eliot Smith elements, maybe some Cairo Gang. It just keeps growing on me. The album has some amazing grooves, like "String." Definitely crazy lyrics. I really dig this album.

Such a sweet and gentle album full of lo-fi melodies and dissonant wails.

I love this album. I heard "Sarah" as closing song on Netflix show Flaked, and I'm glad they listed the soundtrack songs online so I could find this. Pretty laid back, catchy songs, interesting lyrics, and I like his voice. I don't know if it qualifies as "low fi" but it is definitely not overproduced, I think that gives it a soulful feel.
