The Toky Showdown
This is an awesome album by an awesome band, and is captured on their 2000tour in support of the album 'Clayman':1. Bullet Ride - A good way to open the show, very powerful song with astrong chorus. 4.5/52. Embody The Invisible - One of the less memorable songs here, but stillvery good nonetheless. 4/53. Jotun - Excellent song with an excellent intro, very old schoolsounding. I love this song. 5/54. Food For The Gods - A faster song than most on here, but with anawesome breakdown in the middle. 4.5/55. Moonshield - An old In Flames song, and more melodic than some of thenewer songs. 4.5/56. Clayman - More thrashy than the previous songs and with a kick asschorus to match. However, it sounds like Anders' voice is reallystruggling on this track. 4.5/57. Swim - A really great track, with the only real bit of 'audienceparticipation' on. Some catchy melodies here. 5/58. Behind Space - Another less memorable tune, mainly because it doesn'tlive up to the standards of the other songs. 4/59. Only For The Weak - Off of the Clayman album, and one of my favouritesongs on here, I love the guitar during the chorus. 5/510. Gyroscope - The least memorable track, and the poorest. 3.5/511. Scorn - Very good song, a classic. Has a mid-section reminiscent ofSlayer's 'Raining Blood'. Very nice. 4.5/512. Ordinary Story - Good track, but not enough melody in it for myliking. Having said that the chorus is very good. 4/513. Pinball Map - What can I say apart from that this track is absolutelyawesome. Really fast, and an excellent stop-start guitar rhythm in theverse. 5/514. Colony - Another good song. Starts off slow, but erupts into a guitarheavy track. Awesome. 4.5/515. Episode 666 - Heavy as hell. Very awesomely good, another track withawesome guitar work. 5/5All the tracks on here have awesome guitar work, and vocals, and bass, anddrums. It is an excellent introduction to In Flames, and recommended tofans of Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Chimaira, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall etal. Awesome. *****

Great songs, shockingly bad recording quality...
The recording quality is embarrassing. It's that simple. If you're looking at a live album the chances are you're already aware that the selection of songs is really good however, if you want In Flames live buy the DVD "In Live We Trust" instead. This CD is really only worth buying if you like to have every CD that an artist has released. It won't be going in your car, or on your ipod. Believe me.3 stars because great songs are only great songs when you can hear them properly!!

In Flames live FETZT
Auf diesem Livealbum präsentieren IN FLAMES ein echt gutes Set an Stücken, darunter einige der besten, die sie je geschrieben haben, wie z.B. Episode 666, Jotun, Only for the weak, Bullet ride oder Pinball map. Only for the weak" - besser rauskommen.Insgesamt ist dies ein echt gutes Livealbum, jeder IN FLAMES-Fan sollte es haben. IN FLAMES rockt live extrem.

Dommage....
... car la setlist est vraiment très bonne, mais l'ambiance n'est pas là.Je n'ai pas eu la chance de les voir en Live, mais j'ai pu voir des vidéos Live qui était bien moins fade que l'album.A écouter pour la Setlist seulement.

A great introduction to an amazing band.
Remember when Metallica used to know what guitar harmonies were? The blistering trade offs between Kirk and James on Master, Ride the Lightning and especially and Justice for All?In Flames does. They keep the same "tone" that Metallica had back then, infuse it with a heavy Yngwie influence and a perfect understanding between two guitar players. The result is some of the most "beautiful" death metal sounds imaginable. The live album starts muddled in the mix with "Bullet Ride", but the mix improves as they play 5 of my favorite songs in a row. Embody the Invisible is amazing.Curious? Pick it up.

In Flames Tokyo Showdown
There isn't anything really wrong with this Live album. It's overall pretty good. But one thing I've noticed is quite a few of the live albums I've come across almost play like Greatest Hits compilations, and I hate that. Greatest blah blah compilation metal albums I think are the DUMBEST things, from Obituary's to Hypocrisy's to Carcass's Choice Cuts. If your that interested in a band, ask someone who knows where to begin and buy an album, or download an MP3 album of where in that band's catalog of albums would be the best place to get the best taste for the group and if you will like them. The way a live album should be, is uninterupted, the whole play set from beginning to finish. The idea is to capture the Live experience in that moment in time and place in a clear auditory means. But anyway, Tokyo Showdown as an album is a good taste of whats to come for the future In Flames buyer, however it doesn't play a whole lot from the Jester Race which is In Flames without doubt finest album. But as a Live album, it's overall good and a worthy album for one's collection.
