Tomee Charge Dock for Nintendo 3DS XL (Green)

My charging port started getting loose and didn't want to charge without being is a specific position. This uses your existing charging cable. It has a couple prongs that connect on the back of the DS for charging instead of needing to be plugged in directly. MUCH better!

All I did was plug it in and place the 3ds Xl, worked great! Not sure the issues with some of the other reviews. Remember you still need a 3ds charger, this just allows you to use the charging contacts instead of the charge port.

so my charging port on my 3DS XL broke a pin and I thought that this would be a good alternative to sodering on a new charging port.. This is the second cheap charging hub I've purchased on amazon and they were both garbage. This one however I had much higher hope for but was super let down.. construction feels cheap and the pins don't push out far enough to reach the charging contacts. I'm happy to give this a 1 star in hope no one else wastes their money

I had a hard time finding a dock for my 3ds xl, even this item has lack-luster reviews, so I just wanted to set the record straight. For anyone looking for an old 3ds xl charging dock, this is exactly what you need. Not only is the green much more appealing in person, but this dock charges your 3ds by two prong contact to save your charging port. As someone who spends a lot of time playing old and new 3ds xls, this is a great solution to overnight charging without wear and tear on the delicate ports. Me and my wife each purchased one and both work great.PSA; many reviews state this product does not work or needs weight on it to activate, and it DOES take some time to learn how to seat it properly, but once you realize to set the 3ds xl front right corner first, it works easily everytime.Another PSA; THIS DOCK IS FOR OLD 3DS XL, NOT NEW 3DS XL. I hope you arent learning this from me but the old 3ds xl and new 3ds xl are different sizes and the NEW 3ds xl charging docks are MUCH easier to find and cheaper on ebay. But this is perfect for the old 3ds xl that does not have a right thumbstick nub.Highly recommend. Get another 3ds charger with this because this doesnt come with the wall plug, but those are cheap here on amazon.

Even when the device was properly seated, the battery would flicker. I don't feel that was safe.The build quality was also very poor. The charing port was nearly sideways.
