Need an electric razor for the shower? Buy it.
About 7 years ago I had a waterproof electric razor, it was the top of the line Panasonic and it cost me about £270 but it allowed me to shave in the shower. I like shaving in the shower, it is quick and efficient and more pleasant than a dry shave. But the autoclean system was never as good as the Braun system and after about a month of use it started to suffer water ingress and so it went back for a refund. I have been shaving with a proper old fashioned wet safety razor ever since; the results are superb but it takes time and concentration and sometimes if I've had a few drinks the night before, holding a razor blade to my throat is less 'relaxing' and more 'terrifying'.So, for the last month I have been using the Broadcare IPX7 waterproof razor in the shower. First impressions are reasonably good; it's nicely packaged and although the plastic body looks a bit cheap and shiny it is slightly rubberised and so is unlikely to slip out of your hand. Mine came charged but I still gave it a full charge before using it - via usb, a brilliant design improvement over the ridiculous two pin plugs that all razors come with, that you can never find an adapter for when you need it.Using it in the shower with shaving foam means that you get a really very decent shave indeed - in fact I would go out on a limb here and say it's *almost* as good as the Panasonic was and for a fifteenth of the price that's pretty impressive. I've used it for a full month every day and I only charged it yesterday because I felt like I really ought to, the low battery light hadn't come on and it hadn't started choking and catching hairs, although perhaps the tone of the motor had dropped a little. The sound, that's another thing; you don't get the reassuringly throaty motor sound that you will get from a Braun, this sounds distinctly nasal. Less Chris Cornell, more Sam Smith. The one and only thing that to my mind loses this item that one star is the finish on the blade covers. Remingtons and Philips and Brauns (oh my!) coat their covers/foils in materials that decrease the friction for an easier glide over the skin, whereas these feel like plain old stainless steel stamped, deburred and put in place - I can't imagine a dry shave with this razor would be a particularly pleasant experience, but that's not why I bought it. It is, however, the one thing that struck me as a tangible negative, so it shaves off that fifth star.I don't know how this would handle serious beard growth, mine is very tough so perhaps I ought to get a couple of weeks growth on there and see how it handles that.In conclusion though, it is extremely hard not to recommend this razor; it's insanely cheap, it's easy to use, it's very effective and so far it's reliable - £19 very well spent.

He was quite surprised how good it was
Bought for my husband as has not been able to do his normal wet shave. He was quite surprised how good it was. Only reason for deducting one star is that it does not seem to have an indicator showing how much charge is left, it is either working or its not. It would be good to have some sort of gauge so you could see when it needed to be charged and not run out half way through.

Fantastic value and works great!
I usually use a traditional wet razor but find if I miss a few days, it doesn't work very well at all. Several years ago I bought a Braun series 3 wet and dry razor, which having both the foil head and pop up trimmer meant I could shave even when my bristles were getting a bit long. However, it recently stopped working, apparently from worn out batteries, so I had to look for replacements. I was shocked to find that I couldn't find a UK supplier of the two modified AA rechargeable batteries at all so had to look on Ebay for foreign suppliers. The cheapest was from a company in the US at $4 each but the US postage was eye watering and the total cost to me came to around twenty six UK pounds. Even so, the German and Italian firms advertising the same batteries on Ebay were even more expensive. So be warned if you're thinking of buying a Braun rechargeable.Anyway, having spent all that money and fitted the new batteries, it turned out the actual problem was the charging circuit wasn't working properly allowing the batteries to overcharge and wrecking them, so the money was wasted and I needed to find a new rechargeable razor. I decided to try a rotary head one for a change and looked on Amazon to see what I could get quickly via my Prime account. I found the Broadcare IPX7. It seemed to do what I needed at not much more than a quarter of the price of Braun and Phillishave products and seemed to get mostly positive reviews, so I ordered one.Well, I must say I'm extremely impressed. It shaves much closer than the Braun and almost as well as the wet razor. I'm actually using this as my main shaver now and it lasts for days before needing a recharge. I've not let the batteries run out completely yet so don't know how long they'd last but all I need to do is plug it into a USB socket in one of my extension leads at home overnight and it's fully charged again by the morning. So, I definitely recommend this product. At the price, you can't go wrong.

Worked for 15 months then catch broke (common issue it seems)
Well, my one of these has just broken today after 15 months and 2 days (warranty is 15 months of course! ;)) For the price, it's a fine little shaver. Not as close as my old Phillishave and takes me longer to shave with, but then it's quarter the price. And my last 2 Phillishaves only lasted 3 years each anyway (faulty on/off buttons, both of them.)So after 15 months shaving once a day, and opening once per week, the catch holding the lid closed has broken. Reading, this seems extremely common with this model. It's a tiny piece of plastic that should have been made a little thicker to last lonfer. So that silly little fault makes it unusable now (without sticking the spring-loaded lid down with tape). A shame as the blades are fine, and battery life is very good on this shaver.

Bought on 1st Jan 2018
Bought on 1st Jan 2018 and still going strong, found it to show wife I bought it mot her didn't realised I'd had it this long.30th May 2022 so 4 & a half years old and still working brilliantly so for under £20 it is most definitely a quality bargain and still shaves just aswell now as when new and still charges with no issues.

Better than my last shaver but I had to keep ...
Better than my last shaver but I had to keep going over areas repeatedly (at least more than I feel I should've) to get every hair on my face/neck. I was going to give a 4 but the other day I opened up the head to get the hairs out and the button fell off, it would appear the spring is now lost so I cannot close the head at all. It still works if I manually hold it down but that's a pain. Pity such a silly thing did so much.
