The Legs anchor is a one piece drive type anchor designed for use in hollow gypsum wallboard for light to medium duty loads. It is made from heat treated carbon steel which is zinc coated using a special plating process and can be used with No. 6 or No. 8 screws. The Legs anchor is a fast, easy to use expansion anchor designed for use in wallboard. As the screw enters the anchor, it engages the pre-formed tabs in each leg causing them to expand outwards into the base material. Removal of the anchor, if required, is easy. Once removed, the anchor leaves a small slit in the wallboard versus the gaping holes left with other types of hollow wall anchors.

Once you have used these, you will never use those plastic anchors
I used these a number of years ago in a condominium which was entirely wallboard. Since moving to a house with all plaster walls I have not had any trouble hanging objects until a wallboard addition several years ago. After a terrible time trying to hang objects on the drywall, I remembered these. They only make a small slit going in, then spread out when a screw is pot in resulting in a stron hold. AWould never use anything else in wallboard.

Fast and easy anchor with great holding power
I install drapes professionally. When I find nothing behind drywall I just pull out the screw, cut a slit through the hole with box cutter, tap in one of these anchors and drive the same screw back in the hole. Solid and strong (but maybe not perfectly flush), they work for me.

No pre-drilling needed, and leaves small slit
These are really great for hollow doors. We like them even better than the Toggler (white plastic) or E-Z Ancor (cone-shaped metal) ones, even though those ones are nice and solid too, because no pre-drilling is needed for these, and they leave a small slit versus a medium hole. It makes you feel good that someone went to the effort to design a better mousetrap! If they are out of stock here, you can do a search for "Mutual Screw" and their name LEGS and anchor (8-something for a box of 100), or if you don't need tons (you just need some for your house rather than being a professional mounter), they are also available at Ace for 6-something for a box of 20.To get them out afterwards, use the edge of a small screwdriver to pry the flange loose from the wall, then grab it with pliers.

I have been searching home improvement stores for these anchors ...
I have been searching home improvement stores for these anchors for literally two decades. Bought a box in NYC at a long gone store Martin Paint. I hung one of those old fashion wicker bathroom cabinets, loaded up with supplies, and it was solid as a rock.

Best Wall Anchor Ever
It's expensive, but this anchor is the easiest, most secure wall anchor I've ever used for pictures, heavy curtains and rods,etc.- in drywall or plaster, it does the least (visible) damage to the wall and is easy to use.
