Very effective - cheap for what you get
There are instructions online for using this in a sprayer with some soap added - highly recommended. You can just pour this stuff. I've done that too, but it's hard to get the light stream you'd like when just pouring out of the jug. Either way, it's surprisingly effective. I guess moles *REALLY* hate the smell/taste. If you have a large garden to protect, this is much faster, easier, and cheaper than the traps. I have three different kinds of traps, and none of them have ever worked well for me. But this stuff keeps the moles out all season.

This stuff really DOES work!!
I have a half acre residential lot in a small suburban town. I live on a corner with heavy woods on two sides. For the first time in 30 years I have a heavy infestation of moles. Doing a lot of on-line research lead me to MolEvict. I ordered it, along with the Chapin G362 All Purpose Hose End Sprayer.Instead of treating the entire 9420' that had moles on the first application, I decided to treat the portion furthest away from the woods as a test area. I waited two days and walked the test area and collapsed all the mole tunnels. I checked the next day, and then the next day, and found that the test area was completely free of moles. The next day I treated the entire yard. Now, the Chapin sprayer has a 16 oz. bottle and I filled it completely up. I was shocked to find that after HEAVILY spaying the entire yard, about 9200' I still had half a bottle. After a day I went out and collapsed as many of the tunnels as I could find. Two days later there is still no knew activity.I'm VERY encouraged. The instructions say to re-apply after two weeks, and then once every six months. This product does not kill the moles, it chases them away. Apparently they can't stand the smell. There is a slight odor, but it's not obnoxious, at least to us.Some reviewers said they could actually see some moles running across the lawn to get away. I didn't see that, but I did see where there were breeches in the tunnels that looks like they left.I do have have a small dog that is not bothered by the MolEvict, and neither is a neighbors dog.

Arrived in good condition and on time.
I have used a similar product like this and it worked pretty well. Tried this one due to the price point and while it may be working, it does not seem to work as well as the previous brand I used. The ingredients are the same (castor oil) but for some reason, I am not getting the same results. Maybe they have gotten used to it, or maybe different weather conditions. Will probably move on to a new method of ridding the yard of the moles/voles.

Gopher Wars...
I have 5 wooded acres in Northern Idaho and tried to achieve a small gopher free (safe zone) area near our house. I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing works (sonic stakes, 3 types of poisons, spray, pellets, etc.). Given the locations of the mounds, I am fairly certain I have only two gophers remaining. I initially gave the product a 3-star rating because it is possible that it did drive some of the vermin off but have since lowered it as I see no progress at all. I will continue to update this review until the product or gophers are gone.(Note: 6 sonic stakes in ground also for past 8-10 weeks with no effect. They are in place at only half their distance and overlap each other)(Note: mixture is 1 cup Baar to 1 cup dish soap. The 'amount applied' refers only the Baar oil and not to the mixture of oil and soap)Date: 2 - 9 June - 3.5 quarts applied to 3500 sqft, , no rain during time period, - No effectDate: 10 - 18 June - 3.5 quarts, lowered area to 1900 sqft, no rain in time period, - No effect - Terminated TestI do believe that there are many variables which determines if the oil works: time of year, density of ground, are gophers established, temperature, etc. But, frankly I find it not effective, not at all.Update: 15 Sep 2015 - I went to Victor Blackbox traps and boy-oh-boy are they effective. Within 4 days I had trapped 5 gophers and my entire 5 acres are cleared. I went beyond the 'Gopher Free Zone' around the house because I have become so fed up with cleaning up their mess. I did a review of the Blackbox trap., giving it a 5-star rating. I have never put one in the ground without it coming up with one of the rodents. This is effective.

I looked at some of the negative reviews and it made me cautious. I think the problem that others have had with this product is that it is biodegradable and has a time limited effectiveness. It is not the sort of product that can be applied once and expect it to last throughout a summer season. I have had a severe mole, vole, and ground squirrel problem for the past 20+ years and have tried all sorts of solutions, i.e., poison worms and grubs, all sorts of traps, electronic vibrators and poison pellets. Some of the in-ground traps have been moderately successful, but the problem still continued year after year. This year I applied castor oil treatments on a monthly basis. At first the moles went crazy and torn up my property much more than they normally do, but after a couple of weeks they left the area. Since I have started the monthly treatments they have not returned except for one who I caught with an in-tunnel trap. My property is the best it has been in the past 20 years with the monthly treatments. Do not expect instant results. It takes a little time to train the moles to avoid your property. Also, if your ground is of a dense non-porous clay type and the moles are digging deeper than 8 inches below the surface it might not be able to penetrate the ground at that level. If that is the case, your best hope is baiting with poison worms and in-tunnel traps which will at least kill a few of them. Good luck.
