The Impulse is a modular smart helmet featuring Sena’s industry-leading Mesh Intercom and Bluetooth Intercom technology plus premium speakers and microphone by the audio experts at Harman Kardon. With the help of Harman Kardon, the Impulse’s expertly tuned speakers bring a new level of precision and clarity to in-helmet audio, plus an all new microphone for unprecedented outbound audio quality. The helmet boasts an integrated rear-facing taillight for rider visibility and a convenient retractable sun visor. Impulse was built with a DOT-rated composite fiberglass shell and has an intermediate oval fitment. Four strategically placed vents, a chin vent, top vent, and two exhaust vents allow airflow while riding. This helmet complies with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218 (FMVSS 218).

Review: Good audio quality with poor wind noise. - So I bought this helmet after I returned the more cost effective Sena helmet. Can’t remember what they called that one with the jog dial but it would not connect to anything by Bluetooth right out of the box. ( what a lazy design and bad software ) So I thought I would give the more expensive one with proper buttons a try. It’s easier to sync and use by far. The sound quality of the speakers is pretty good for the price point. The fitment around the crown of my dome is pretty spot on and feels snug in the cheeks. What is not good however is the amount of wind whistle/disturbance that comes under the helmet. The visor doesn’t seem to seal all that well and the placement of the boom mic leaves much to be desired. It is like the mic is the width of a dog hair from my face and constantly touches my chin. I know what you’re thinking, no I don’t have the Jay Leno chin…. I guess to sum it all up Maybe that’s why I’m feeling more disappointed than anything and as a result I’m having a hard time justifying the cost and ownership of this helmet.

So I bought this helmet after I returned the more cost effective Sena helmet. I like the new helmet. I don't love it. In overall happiness with the product, I'd maybe give 4 stars because it is heavy, but the weight is given. I didn't realize how much difference you feel in your neck between 3 lbs and nearly 6 lbs. There's no way I could wear it daily, but for those once a week rides, it's tolerable. The sound is amazing!! The muffling of the engine and road sounds is great. I like the fit, although it's a lot tighter than the same size in other helmets, which I tend to consider too loose.
