It's not cheap but it's very well made and feels heavy duty, with crisp details and smooth surfaces. Make shortbread and sugar cookies that look very fancy, and you can imprint fondant and similar firm surfaces to add another level of fancy to your creation. For stickier surfaces a nonstick spray, or if it looks OK to you, dust with flour of confectioner's sugar. Lots of fun, and It might look cool using it on gingerbread!

This rolling pin arrived In a timely manner in good condition. I was excited to try for my thanksgiving apple pie. Good weight and solid, but the result was absent, which is to say that the beautiful basket weave pattern dissolved in the baking. What a disappointment! I am reluctant to waste my time trying again, though I might try on a cookie. Will update my review if results are positive.

The quality is terrible. The pattern is wrong and the handle has deep scratches! The bolts that hold it all together are cracked as well. I couldn't get a good picture of that.
