Close to gel if you don't want to use an LED system
For a no light required gel type polish, Epix is my favorite. I'm not a fan of OPI's gel or Essie. Both are too thick and streaky. Epix is a gel consistency and a little thin. I needed 3 coats to build this polish up. My complaint is that it took a very long time to dry. Probably over an hour before each thin coat fully set. That's how soft and flexible the gel is. However, it's also very easy to massage any dents out of the polish. So if you do get a small dent. Wet a cotton swab and gently massage until smooth and remove any lint. Applying a top coat once all the layers are fully dry will additionally cover any uneven spots and give back the shine.Overall, I think I do prefer soak-off, UV/LED gel nail polish because of the near instant curing. But this is a close second because of the wear time and easy removal.
