Did the job on our good kitchen knives
I didn't want to use a rod or low quality sharpener on our more expensive knives, and after research, found that a 1000/6000 was a good grit whetstone. I had received a nice santoku that had a microscopic chip in the blade. I had worried that I would alter the curve if sharpened recklessly, but with some practice on some of our old knives, I was able to hone the spot out without any recognizable difference in sharpness or curvature. The angle guide is pretty useless as it didn't conform to the angle on any of our blades. I just practiced and slight angles until I got the hang of it. I might try the wedge angle guides in the future, though.

This is the best GD whetsone I ever used
This is the best GD whetsone I ever used. Sure the directions stink and learning to use the item without instructions isn't easy ... but damn this thing will sharpen anything. I can't wait to lazor sharp up my samuri sword and go all feudal japan on the next creeper that hides outside of my window by my sprinklers in a batman suit.

Simple but perfect product!!!
I used to pay to sharpen my knives but now I love this kit, it's simple and fast to use and I got great results. The cleaning stone will help to maintain my sharpener kit in perfect conditions. Workslike a charm.
Honestly very happy with this stone. Sharpened my Misono Chee knife and all of my roommates knives. A mist have for any serious home cook, even the professional cook. Didn't use the provided angle guide as I've sharpened knives before.

I ordered a stone I thought it was a quality stone but it’s a peice of junk
The stone is to soft my knife cuts into it. Now it has waves up an down the stone
