Beautiful screen with a great build quality.
DOOGEE BL5000 Unlocked 4G Smartphone, 5.5" Android 7.0 1.5GHz MT6750T Octa Core 4GB RAM 64GB ROM Dual SIM Mobile Phone with Dual Rear Camera(13MP+13MP) Front Camera(8MP) 5050mAh Battery Bluetooth Wifi GPS GSM SIM-free Cellphone (Black) The phone (Doogee BL5000) arrived in a nice box, sleek black box, the presentation was good and this would be suitable to give as a gift. Firstly it’s a £150 phone so don’t expect it to go head to head with the £600+ phones from the big boys on the market. When I examined the phone, it felt sturdy and actually more solid and better than any of the Samsung phones (pre-2016) that I own. The 5.5” screen was the best thing about this phone, it was beautiful very bright, clear and sharp. It supported 1920 x 1080 at 480 dpi and had a mali-T860 GPU for graphics.I was pleased that it came with some essential accessories such as a case, screen protectors (although not the correct size) (x2), a SIM tool, a USB cable and a UK charger. The version I bought was the 64GB version with 4GB RAM, so there was no need for me to buy an additional micro SD card for storage. Turning it on I noticed it came installed with Android 7.0 and had 2 nano SIM slots. For processing it had an Octo core ARM A53 powered by the SoC MT6750T chip. I was pleased to see that it supported 802.11a WiFi despite the specs saying it didn’t.Using the user interface on the phone it was very responsive, swiping screens, taking pictures & internet browsing was all very smooth and it didn’t feel like a budget phone. It felt every bit as fast and smooth as my Samsung S5 plus.It had 2 x 16MP rear cameras with flash and a front 13MP camera with flash. I’ve included a picture of a football bear mascot taken with this phone (it’s been cropped but Amazon also compresses it). On the side was a dual SIM card tray that could take 2 SIM cards - the selection of which was controlled via the menus.I played music videos on Youtube and it played them wonderfully and I would compare the speakers akin to the ones found on the Samsung S5.I like to run a benchmark on all my phones and I prefer the AnTuTu benchmark, which I ran and it scored 43,996. As is par for the course on all the budget phones, their biggest weaknesses are their graphics processors and this one’s was the same it was a little under-powered when compared to big brand premium phones. However this shouldn’t put you off as it’s more than capable in everyday tasks.Overall it was a really good value phone for what you get for your money, 64GB of storage, 4GB RAM, a fingerprint sensor, WiFI a/b/g/n (2.4Ghz), Bluetooth, 5.5” screen, dual SIM compatibility, 16MP camera and an Octacore CPU. It also came with a case and screen protector. Its biggest weakness was the graphics GPU mali-T860 but day to day I didn’t notice drawbacks only in academic benchmarks. This phone is such good value, I’m amazed at what I got for £155 the screen was stunning as well as the build quality, I can highly recommend it.I’ve included various pictures / screenshots and a small video of the speakers. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.
