Bio Fires - Glass Cube II Black Bio Ethanol Burner

This looks quite large, larger than I was expecting (it does match the specified dimensions, but somehow looks larger 'in the flesh'), but not overly large. Sits nicely in the middle of a large table, empty fire place or on a suitable garden wall, etc.Unlike many other listings of similar items, it was good to have the pebbles included. You don't need to use the pebbles, but they somewhat obscure the fuel container so semi-creates the illusion the flame is coming from the pebbles. The fuel container must be clear of pebbles of course.This also came with 1 litre of fuel which was brilliant - I could start using it straight away.The base is good quality, heavy metal sheeting with a decent black coating. Although the metal thickness is robust the whole unit, including the glass, is fairly light to move around.The glass sits in four slots so can very easily be removed for re-fuelling, etc.Produces a fantastic good depth flame that burns between 15cm to 30cm high (most of the time approx 20cm), amply big enough to create a pleasing visual effect, illumination and some heat.The hour burning time is rather optimistic. I have used this a couple dozen times now and never had more than 50 minutes, usually about 45. I'm using proper bio ethanol too ( 6L PREMIUM BIOETHANOL FUEL FREE DELIVERY UK & IRELAND. Premium Grade Bioethanol Fuel ).Some websites suggest using ceramic wool to extend the burning time, but I tried this ( Gel + Ethanol Fire-Places 1 Ceramic Sponge 300X100X13 For Less Fuel Consumption by Gel + Ethanol Fire-Places ), and it didn't seem to work, in fact all it seem to do was reduce the flame size (which would suggest a longer burning time, but bizarrely was the same as without the wool).Can't vouch the stated 1 kW output, but it does produce quite a bit of heat. There is no (detectable) odour or smoke - very clean burning.Really like this product! Can be expensive if you use it a lot, if you do it's probably worth spending up front with something like  24L PREMIUM BIOETHANOL FUEL FREE DELIVERY UK & IRELAND. Very nice burner, well build, easy to assemble, and pleasant to use. Gives nice flame and cosy heating. Would be nice to re-think the way of extraction of the cup with fuel, 'cos it is inconvenient to grab it by the thin rim, some tool or tiny handles might help. It burns faster than declared, my result is never exceeded 30 minutes on one full charge (haven't try gel fuel yet). Price disappoints, would be happy to have it cut by 1/3.

Purchased this Bio Fire to use outside on the patio. It is very well made and durable, easy to put together and use.It casts a lovely glow in the dark and produces a bit of heat but I bought it more for the effect as opposed to the heat output.The cup full of oil burns for about 40 mins, it is recommended that you leave it for 10 minutes before refilling and re-lighting, the oil isn't cheap so it is quite expensive to run but I won't be using it all the time.Would definitely recommend

The media could not be loaded.  Brilliant centre piece. Only downfall is the duration. It lasts approx 45 mins. It’s also suggested to remove one panel of the glass each time to fill and refill. This isn’t practical advice. The decorative small pebbles wouldn’t stay in place and fall off the side. And the glass would be too hot to touch if your are refilling. It is still worth 5 starts though.

I told him originally it was my new fish tank ! He couldn’t wait to light it tonight .Happy Days .Great for Xmas presents ! Not sharing on Facebook yet my little secret and surprise.

I love this. It’s a real head turner as a centre piece. The real flames are mesmerising. Just wish it had a bigger tank as it only lasts about 45 minutes on a full tank and then you have to wait for it to cool down before you can refill. Would definitely recommend. Well constructed

We really like this bio fire. We wanted something for our pagoda just for decorative purposes. It looks really good. Just what we wanted. Something safe for inside the wooden structure. It does give off a little heat but that's not why we bought it. It could be more noticeable in the cold weather but it won't be significant.
