The pen came with no cartridge and a free squeeze converter which is opaque. I purchased a pilot CON 40 converter separately mainly because it's transparent. You can see the CON 40 converter installed, and the squeeze converter placed into the CON 40 packet in the image. The fine nib works well even on regular cheap paper. I don't post the cap of the pen when writing if the dimensions allow, and the dimensions of this one do allow me to use it as I like. The weight is good as well. I mulled over spending this much money on a pen for a bit, but it turned out to be well worth the money.

Before embarking upon the decision to purchase this blue coloured MR animal collection pilot fountain pen branded as Matte plum with leopard accent ,I have done a thorough search in the Amazon online platform. I ultimately chose this pen and on the first look l fell in love with the pen. As regards it's functional performance ,I could say that it is a perfect writing instrument for daily users like me.Price is albeit a little bit on the higher side. Goutam Majumder, Kolkata.

A gr8 entry level premium pen. Looks are decent, nothing to boast of..or rather it doesn't seem much like a premium pen. However, writes smooth with an even flow of ink, same as a Lamy Safari (Fine Nib). Grip is comfortable, does not slip. Cap mechanism is working fine even after 5 months of regular use. Highly recommended for people planning to buy an entry level premium pen.Adding on to this review after six months. But for the ink converter, its an excellent pen. Limitations of ink converter can be taken care of by using cartridges...and if required...syringe for refilling them. Found it better than Lamy...which is made of plastic while Pilot MR is metallic. Just choose ur nib type and go for it....u won't regret it.

This product is phenomenal... writes extremely well and looks wise also it is stunning...purchased the animal series' leopard metropolitan...it comes with a case where you can store the pen but didn't get any cartridge with it...but it has ink converter inside of the pen...so a value for money purchase for me...if you looking for a classy looking fountain in budget then I recommend you should go with this...just loving it...❣️

Excellent fountain pen for beginners. The fine nib is super fine unlike its German counterparts. Writes smoothly, even with a dry ink- actually the flow improves with writing! Pilot provides the same fine nib as it does with the Metropolitan, but this one actually costs less. The fountain pen arrived on time in excellent condition. However, the website said the pen to arrive with "a converter and pre-filled black ink cartridge", the pen arrived with only the converter, and not the cartridge. Moreover, it is not sold and shipped from USA, but form Luxor (India) on behalf of Pilot (Japan).

I take a lot of notes using Gregg Shorthand, and I like a very smooth, non-scratchy writing utensil. I have fountain pens that will do the job on high-quality steno paper, but the Pilot Metropolitan Gel Roller is smoother than anything I have in my arsenal. On top of that, it writes on high-quality paper and cheap paper without bleed-through or feathering. It is my go-to writing utensil.

I read many reviews of entry-level fountain pens and this particular pen was recommended on several pen afficionado sites. I bought one for myself (medium nib), and have been using it regularly for the past month. I love the way it feels in my hand, and the even flow of ink on the page. I like this pen so much that I have purchased 3 of them as Christmas gifts. I have already given one of them to my friend, who loves both the feel in the hand and the smooth writing.I strongly recommend this pen, and it is at a good price point.

The hype about these pens is very real. It writes as well as pens I paid twice as much for, and it’s got a heavy, sturdy feel. The brass body is perfect for tossing in a bag and taking on the go, but because of the lacquered [?] finish and plastic grip section, you don’t get the brassy smell left on your fingers after you write with it. You’re more than getting your money’s worth with this guy; the next cheapest widely-available brass fountain pen in the US will run you roughly $60. Seriously, I’m likely going to grab this in multiple different colors. It’s worth it.
