Way to complicated
There is nothing easy about this product. I write this at 7.34 on Christmas morning with a very disappointed child waiting for me to 'make it work'. It is not intuitive in the least and I have resorted to trawling the Internet for advice. Not a good choice for me I'm afraid.

Fun to use, but did not always work.
We have several of these in school. I tried them out with a group of six and seven year olds. The controls for recording and playing seem simple to use although deleting files and other operations are not as intuitive; it seems easier to plug the device into a computer to manage the recordings. Some of my pupils found it frustrating that the devices did not appear to work at all, but this may be because they were not all fully charged? However, they may have been faulty, or we may have accidentally turned the volume down? Here are some of the opinions of the children:"It looks good and nice, but it was hard to use.""First the microphone was good, but then it didn't work""You should buy it!""It was very easy to play.""The buttons work good""I couldn't get it working."But it was fun to try to use them, so for the novelty the children have rated them four out of five.

no joy yet. Will be returning and complaining to get ...
I purchased two full sets of these with the docking station for my school. They are very lightweight and flimsy feeling, but I was hopeful they would work well and plugged them in to charge all day. They just do not work!! Each time I take a microphone off the docking stand the little LED light goes from steady green (supposedly fully charged...as one would expect after eight hours) - to blank, no light at all! They do not record or play back. I have spent a lot of money on them and am quite furious, especially after a lengthy conversation with wishtrac the supplier, and with the company in Notts whose name is on the instruction booklet! Emailed wishtrac too, no joy yet. Will be returning and complaining to get to the bottom of it. Does anyone have any tips?

Not Hi Fi, but it does work!
This is a microphone flash drive combination that allows you to easily record sound and get it on to the computer. It will also playback audio using the microphone diaphram as a speaker. This gadget is much smaller than you might think from looking at the photos. It also feels a bit plasticy and flimsy. However, despite its toy-like looks it seems to be fairly robust. It has a confusing system of colured led flashes for mode setting so keep the instruction leaflet handy. (IF you get the pro version it has a much easier to use, but small, LCD screen with the information on it)All that said it 'does what it says on the tin'. It will produce fairly good WAV or MPEG files that easily transfer to the computer. The microphone has a fairly close sensitivity and good noise rejection, so is great for speaking, but not so good for recording a band in an auditorium. The use of the diaphram as a speaker can make the sounds seem 'tinny', but when you play back even on cheap computer speakers the sound seems OK.The EasiSpeak Pro has 105MB of recordable memory (128MB flash memory includes firmware); this is translated to approximately 2 hours recording at WAV quality, or 4 hours in an MP3 format. The battery takes around 4 hrs to charge up from flat, and battery life is approximately 3 hours of recording or playback. (It uses 75mA in standby, 100mA recording and between 80-102mA during playback, depending on the volume). The WAV format is 16KHz at 64kbps bitrate. This is at 4 bits per sample, in IMA ADPCM format. The only real down side is the sample rate. IF they could make it record WAV at 44.1KHz and keep the price down they would sell many more units.I would recommend this for quick and dirty 'disposable' audio projects. If you want decent sound that will end up on a CD you would be better off looking at something like a Zoom H2 (but at much higher cost!)
