Identical Replacement for my 2003 Acura CL at a great price
Dealers will charge you well over $100 for this bulb plus labor. Some may even tell you that the ballast and inverter need replacing, at at total cost of over $800. I suggest you try replacing the bulb before even thinking about taking your car to a dealer. Amazon did a great job with the make and model lookup selector that verifies if this bulb fits your car. Yup, my car was on the list and the OEM bulb I replaced in my 2003 Acura CL looks identical.PLEASE BE CAREFUL - MAKE SURE YOUR HEADLIGHT SWITCH IS OFF BEFORE DOING ANY DISASSEMBLY! HID bulbs use a ballast circuit that produces 5,000 volts to ignite the bulb and then about 100 volts to stay illuminated.I needed a T20 "security" bit, not just a TORX bit to take out the one screw locking the headlight back cover. The spring clip holding the bulb was very difficult to unlatch and relatch, but the bulb replacement process is fairly simple otherwise. Please be aware that the light from this bulb may a appear a little yellow compared to the old bulb. This is normal for a new bulb and the color will change as it breaks in after about 15-20 hours towards blue.

GE D2R 4200K HID BULB (ON 2002 ACURA TL Type-S)
Passenger side bulb on my 2002 Acura TL Type-S, turned a purplish hue...and then went out. Called Sierra Acura; they wanted $130.00 for the bulb and $115.00 FOR LABOR!?!?!?!!? Called PepBoys; they wanted $119.00 for a replacement. Checked AMAZON, and found it for $64.45!!!! Swapped it out myself and saved $180.00!!!!!!!!It's not that difficult. In order to change your HID bulb on your 2002 Acura TL you must have a Torx T20 tamper proof bit to remove the cover to the housing where the bulb is located. Unscrew the screw with your T20 bit, undo the retaining clip, remove and disconnect the bulb, connect the new bulb (DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS ON THE NEW BULB, IT SHORTENS YOUR BULBS LIFE) and then do everything in reverse. DO NOT FORGET TO DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY PRIOR TO REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION. I think I remember reading that there are 20,000 volts going to these bulbs and that's enough to kill an individual. The new light is brighter than the driver's side, but I read that with a few hours of use that it reverts back to a bluish hue and will match.DON'T LET THE DEALER RIP YOU OFF. THIS SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT MOST PEOPLE CAN DO.Have fun and be safe.

Nice bulbs just not as "blue" tinted as the originals
I put two of these into my Acura a few weekends ago and while the process to replace these bulbs is a pain they work like a charm. If you are putting one of these in you might as well replace both since you then will know when they both were put in. The packaging by amazon was pretty lousy though and I had these overnighted so I could put them in on the weekend and luckily they didn't break in transit. They didn't have any bubble wrap in the envelope they came in or anything and I was surprised given the only thing the bulbs come in is a pretty cheap small box. Great product, works well just thought they may be a little "bluer" than they are.

A little trouble replacing the GE D2R 4200k HID on my 2002 acura TL type-S
I got this replacement bulb from Amazon about 3 weeks ago but am having a little bit of trouble replacing my passenger side headlight which i got it for. After carefully reading the reviews, i took out the old one that went out and i put the new one in but for some reason the light won't come on after turning the switch on. I thought maybe i miss something even though putting the bulb holder clip back on is a real real struggle but i mean shouldn't the light come on once u install it in the holder? or do u have to put everything back the way it was for it to come on?... I don't get it. So pls help if u have any ideas especially for u Mr A. Rios as i understand u have the same car make and model (2002 acura tl type s). Thanks

Works great, no problems
The dealership wanted to charge me $175 (plus labor) for the same bulb. A well-respected local shop was going to charge me $125 (plus labor). I asked the local shop if I could buy the part and have them install it...they make money on the labor, and I save money on the parts... a Win/Win. They agreed. I needed another part that Amazon didn't have (I would have bought it from Amazon if they would have had it), so I bought that part on eBay (brand new, not used). So here's a summary of the savings for total parts and labor: Dealer wanted: $1,100 Local Shop wanted: $900 By buying the parts myself and having the local shop install them: $270Minimum savings: $630Hope this information is helpful to you.

good bulb
Smooth transaction - bulb seem to be working fine (for ~3 weeks now). Bought it to replace the original HID bulb in 2005 Prius, that was flickering and turning off randomly. This new GE bulb is made in Hungary, and the light is more toward yellowish-white, while the old bulb was more bluish-white as they all do change color slightly with use. But I don't care about appearance. Good illumination of the road is what I need and this bulb does it with it's 4200K. No point going for 5000K or 6000K colors - they give less light to the road, while looking more blue. Thanks!

Not exact color/temperature replacement.
I purchased this to replace a burnt out HID for my 2008 Infiniti QX56. After the item was installed, the light emitted from the bulb is whiter than the OEM bulb which emits a bluish-colored light. So now the new light looks different than the OEM bulb installed on the other side. They are both the correct temperature (4200) so I am not sure why the new bulb is a different color shade. The only thing left to do is either buy another light from the same buyer or go back to the dealer and pay $200+ at the dealer for the exact replacement. Since I had a dealer replace the bulb, at no cost, I forgot to ask for the OEM item back to compare it against the new replacement bulb.

Good item for the price, but different color signature when compared to the original bulb.
Replaced it on our 2005 Toyota Prius. We only needed to replace one so we did not really care to replace both since they are a pain to replace on a Prius. Color signature is slightly different then the original bulb, it is just as bright.
