Accurate
Decent quality, accurate, easy to read but quite slow to react to temperatures

Did a very good job of proving the inaccuracy of the heating stats!
Took a while to find the 'corner' in order to pull off the screen protector showing the sample reading, but very easy to set up overall. Big clear numbers. Just what we needed.

Beware the sticker on the front...(!)
Bought this for my parents, who live 100 miles away. Phoned them to see if it had arrived. It had, but they thought it was faulty - "it says 28 all the time". I had an inkling of what was wrong so told them I'd check when I next visited. Two weeks later and I'm there. I take one look at the thermometer and immediately see the problem. There's a peel-off label over the readout. It's transparent with black numbers which read 8.5. Overlaid on the actual reading of 21, this suggests the temperature is 28.5. Remove label - problem solved! My parents had set it up in a few minutes, which (because as they say, they don't do gadgets) proves it's easy to use, and now it's reading something other than 28 they're happy with it - big, clear numbers which they can see from halfway across the living room. One never knows how accurate these things are but it seems to agree with the central heating thermostat and 21 "feels about right". At around a tenner, in my opinion (and theirs) it's a decent buy.

A good little item
I recently moved home and needed to check the accuracy of the room thermostats. Bough 4 in total – a Dostmann Digital Thermometer (£8.49), a Hypothermia Tent-Style Thermometer (£1.99) and 2 Energy Saving Eco Room Thermometers £2.75 each).I tested them by placing them alongside each other – and they all performed well and displayed the same temperature – very reassuring! If you need to know in Fahrenheit or Centigrade, and to a more precise reading to one decimal point, the Dostmann is very good. The other three showed only Centigrade, and in increments of 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27 – so a general indicator of room temperature. The ‘card’ style Eco thermometers are easy to read and gave a clearly highlighted reading. The Tent-Style, although slightly smaller had a slight advantage in the as the temperature went up/down, there was a discernible change to adjacent number, indicating for example, the temperature was between the two number. All items were good, and can be recommended. You just need to choose the one (or more) that meets your needs and circumstances.

Amazon no longer sell replacement batteries
I purchase three of these at the same time.On arrival two of them gave readings of one degree apart, the third consistently gave a reading 4 degrees higher than the other two.I recently tried too purchase replacement batteries from Amazon, the order was accepted and delivery date provided. I then received an e-mail from Amazon that stated; "We regret to inform you that we have been unable to source the following item: "Duracell Specialty 2025 Lithium Coin Battery 3V, pack of 2 (DL2025/CR2025)" http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003UP1OAM

Excellant
I now have two of these handy little thermometer's, one in my fridge and the other in my kitchen. They are accurate and portable so that I can take them anywhere required. I don't have room thermometer's so use the kitchen one to judge how I use my heating settings - works well for me.
