Although not complete, there is more here than you'd expect
As other reviews have pointed out some of the Comic Relief specials aren't on this collection, but I don't think that's too important. The specials were anything but, being basically just short skits where the cast gather to deliver their catchphrases, and like anything connected with Comic Relief they work best in the context of that show.On the other hand this collection has the far more worthwhile compensation of having some slightly extended versions. Like most dvds there were clearly some sequences that faced music copyright issues such as the scene where everyone sings a Disney song, which has been heavily edited. So to keep up the length of the episodes that suffer, they have added in other scenes that weren't shown originally on tv. As a long time Dibley fan I've watched all the episodes many times from the recording I'd made off the tv, and so seeing short new bits that extend scenes was very welcome, especially as they all contain good jokes that were worth showing along with better explanations of plots. For instance, Alice's unexpected outburst in the second season episode where Geraldine is preparing a party for her is particularly memorable and goes on to set up the disaster of the party better than the original tightly edited version. As regards the episodes, watching them all together brings home just how funny they are. It's easy to view it as a more good-natured version of Blackadder with female leads. Certainly Alice is as funny as Baldric and Geraldine is as memorable as a creation as Blackadder. The rest of the ensemble cast work well together with the pompous David, the stupid Hugo, the dithering Jim, the bluff Owen and the boring Frank. To some extent it runs out of steam in the later episodes but even so it can always be relied upon to provide a regular supply of laughs.

Heavenly - British Comedy at its best
The Vicar of Dibley is a household name and most of us are well aware of the happenings in the vicarge of Dibley. It is often hilarious, but never nasty and always with a BIG heart. It leaves you watching with a smile all the time and you leave in good humour. At the end of each episode, following the closing credits, Geraldine tells a joke to Alice -- most of the time, the joke is rather off-colour. Alice usually doesn't get the joke, but instead tries to interpret it literally and then explains to Geraldine why the premise is implausible. Hilarious! The Vicar of Dibley is set in a fictional small Oxfordshire village called Dibley, which is assigned a female vicar following the 1992 changes in the Church of England that permitted female vicars.Geraldine Granger - Dawn French - is the female vicar. She is a bonne vivante and a large, liberal woman who enjoys nothing more than a good laugh. Despite her fun-loving and sometimes outrageous behaviour, she is deeply caring and does her best to help those in her parish in any way she can.In short, pure entertainment and entertainment as it should be.

The Ultimate Vicar of Dibley Collection
What can I say, Dawn French and the whole gang back in full swing. As religious oriented comedy progammes go this was the best. It knocked spots of its predecessors (All Gas & Gaiters) the only thing that came close recently was Father Ted. This collection contains all the episodes and all the seasonal and Christmas specials. Plus as a bonus you get the two Comic relief Specials plus the making of and the out takes, and a collection of The Epilogues ( jokes at the end. A six disc collection, for the money great value and one not to be missed, add it to your collection now. And when you feel the need get it out and laugh away the blues.

Lord Almighty!
This was a show that I only saw bits of on it's initial run. I had never seen a full episode before. Now I will get to see the show in it's entirety. From start to finish. On episode one as I type. The Vicar has just been introduced to the town council after arriving in the pouring rain. I prefer my sitcoms in box sets or at the very least in complete single series editions. I can't watch shows on TV. One episode a week, every week. That ruins the pacing. Especially for longer shows. The Ultimate Collection arrived today. 1st of April. According to the orders page it says between April 2 - April 4. I'm not complaining. Also this set including postage came to around £14.15p. Second hand from a seller. It had to be. The only new copies available came from Amazon themselves at the current price of £94.99p before postage. Big difference. About £80 of a difference. I like my DVD's new. But pre-owned is always welcome if new is out of reach. So far the show comes across as a gentle sitcom set in a countryside village. The ideal setting if you ask me. I live in the countryside so I can appreciate the tranquil setting. Thankfully though we don't have many wally brains in this village. Unlike there are in Dibley. I hope there are no annoying characters in the show. That is one thing that can kill a sitcom dead. I have a little faith in the show (no pun intended). Mr Curtis wrote it. I'm sure he had a cunning plan when he did.I love sitcoms early in the morning or at night. That's when they come alive more. Although sitcoms are good at anytime of the day or night. They are good for morale. That's why I have so many and my collection is always growing. I am selective though. Not all forms of comedy make it into my collection. Most (not all) sitcoms do. Watching. Brush Strokes. Only Fools. Father Ted. Red Dwarf. Bottom. Filthy Rich and Catflap. Two In Clover. Curry & Chips. Love Thy Neighbour. Taxi. The Munsters. Cheers. Home Improvement. Sledge Hammer. My Wife Next Door. Joint Account. Dad's Army. It Ain't Half Hot Mum. Allo! Allo!. All Penelope Keith sitcoms that are available. And many many more.Discs 1 5 and 6 of Dibley have Play All as a feature. Discs 2 3 and 4 have to be played one episode at a time. This is why I give the set 4 stars not 5.

Rundum Top
Die Lieferung war angesetzt zwischen dem 10. und 15. April. Das Produkt kam bereits am 04. April an.
