Arthritic hands - Highly recommend
During the third trimester of pregnancy I developed early arthritis and carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands/wrists. I have to use an Nasogatric Tube and medication needs to be administered via the tube. This pill crusher is absolutely effortless, no pressure at all required. Having a cone shape crusher is key as all the others I've had are flat.I would have preferred the bottom to be of the same quality with thick rubber corners as whilst holding the bottom is a little sharp in the palms of my hands

Easy to use and very effective
I had struggled with other types of pill crushers, but this one is the easiest I have ever used. The shape of the crusher makes it fairly easy, even with my arthritic hands, to very effectively crush tablets. This has made an awkward task a lot easier. This gadget is purely a pill crusher. It unscrews, revealing a cavity into which you put tablets, before screwing together again in order to crush them. There is no additional function as a pill cutter, so there is no compartment that can pop open while you're trying to crush tablets, and no blade that can accidentally cut your thumb. It's a superb design.

Works well, but could be cheaper
One star less only because it should be a few pounds cheaper. But it works well, crushing my cat's 10mg pills with ease. I did have to practice a few times. If I twisted only slightly the pill was crushed into coarse powder, but if I really twisted hard the pill was pulverised into such fine powder they under pressure it became hard again. So I normally do a slight first twist, and then another, just a few millimetres. I think people with hand / arm difficulties would find it easy enough to twist. I also think there doesn't need to be quite so much thread on it as pills are only so tiny, you're not trying to crush a walnut!

OK...
I purchased this item to crush large painkillers. It crushes great to a certain extent, but leaves a fair amount of gritty residue. It’s relatively easy to use, although you do have to wind it extremely tight in order to crush the tablets.I gave it four stars as the one I had before this was half the price & did a better job.

my opinion
Everything is great apart from bottom part of the crusher has sharpe corners. The crusher does it's job 100% but I have to wear an oven glove on my left hand, I am right handed, to stop these corners digging in to my skin, the top is great. This is by far the best crusher I have bought and I have been using various ones for 10 years.Deep body to cope with large pills, as mine are.Deep thread to cope with the force required to crush. If they made the bottom half as good as the top half it would be 5 star rated.Well worth the money.

Not really good unless you have a strong grip
Let’s start with the pros- It’s a sturdy plastic and doesn’t feel flimsy- it crushes pills and tablets(caveat below)- can crush multiple meds at once (depending on composition)- just rinse it under the tap to get the residue out and dryThe cons:- the edges could be more rounded as it does indeed dig into ones hands- if you have weak hands or suffer from arthritis then this may prove to be too hard to use- some tablets are extremely difficult to crush in this product. To the point I am now the designated med crusher as my wife cannot apply enough force using this device. Even then some can be a struggle

I would say its good for home use
I brought this for work....mainly because the ones the NHS supply are dreadful things. Its lasted for about a month before the rubber grips began to come loose of break off. But its still going, though now is swathed in medical tape around the top.I would say its good for home use, but for the kind of work needed on an elderly inpatient unit, its really not built to last without repairing.Oh, and if you wash it, make sure you push kitchen roll (etc) into the circular gap around the top, as moisture keeps in their and can get into what your grinding, which can ruin the powder and turn it into prescribed mush.
