TFA30.5019.01 Cozy Digital Thermo Hygrometer

Just purchased this little guy for the third time - not because there is any problem with the previous ones but just because I keep adding them to different rooms in my house. It's not the cheapest, but to my eyes it's probably the cutest - the circular shape and simple display seem friendlier than the rectangular scientific-looking ones and I like how it sits up proudly on its circular display stand. The absolute best thing though is how the curved shape makes the coloured moisture scale at the top look like a little rainbow. Who wouldn't want to glimpse a little rainbow every time they check the temperature?Looking at previous orders I can see that I bought my first one in 2014 and I think I've only replaced the battery once (possibly twice?) - that's the advantage of it using an AAA battery instead of one of those thin watch-type batteries like many of the others. Plus it came in completely plastic-free packaging, which is fab. The accuracy seems good to me - after giving the new one time to settle, it's showing exactly the same readings as the one I've had for 8 years, and I have no reason to think this is inaccurate. They really help us regulate the temperature and moisture in the house, particularly in discouraging me from putting the heating on when I feel cold but it turns out to be 19 degrees (I put another jumper on instead!).Great investment (saving money on heating!), fab well-thought-out design, easy to use, efficient, and (in its own way) beautiful. Would recommend, unless there are none left because I've bought them all!

Another fine domestic thermo-hygrometer from the German company TFA Dostmann (of which I now own several). It's important to note that, as an electronic DOMESTIC humidity meter, the accuracy will be CLOSE ENOUGH to give you a fair indication of humidity (within maybe 4 or 5% of reality), but it will NOT be as accurate as a precision professional hygrometer instrument costing at least 10+ times more (which I also own). The temperature display is far more accurate - better than 1c. These figures are within the makers' stated specification and I'd consider good for a lower-priced model such as this. With that in mind, this model performs well, and standing 12cm tall it has a nicely moulded two-tone silver-plastic casing that looks smart (the stand can be removed for wall hanging). The back has two buttons: You can toggle the display between Centigrade and Fahrenheit, and also display the MIN and MAX ranges the unit has been subjected to for both temperature and humidity (It can be reset by holding the button for 3 seconds). Note that the upper dial pointer only indicates dry, normal or wet conditions, with one intermediate position between each (5 positions in total) giving an at-a-glance indication of relative humidity - it is not a constantly revolving pointer as, for example, the TFA analogue synthetic hair model  Climate Buddy  uses (although that is more accurate overall, it too isn't 100% accurate as some owners claim). This TFA Cosy model uses one AAA 1.5v battery, which is included in the colour-printed box (making a nice easily wrapped gift). With these stated limitations in mind - which are common with all models of this ilk - I think this is a good choice from a maker of good repute, and I'd firmly recommend it.If like me you're interested in controlling damp, condensation and mould issues in the home, see my other Amazon reviews on related products.

Bought to get a rough idea of house humidity levels. Rooms where mould / moisture appears at skirting board level may be caused by high moisture content condensing (condensation), and not by rising damp. This does a good job of providing an approximate indication of moisture content in the room. Although double glazing is good at reducing draught and heat loss, a downside is an increase in humidity levels due to lack of ventilation. This handy piece of kit provides a means of comparing humidity levels in the house. It's interesting to see the humidity level drop in bedrooms after windows are opened. Very pleased with purchase.

I bought 2 of them based on great reviews and also being German made technology. Great looking and smart. Easy to set up as well. I would have loved them to have a night light as well. Temperature is accurate but I am kind of questioning the accuracy of the humidity. Once I received them placed them both in the same place and showed a discrepancy of 3 % between. Now the reason why I question the accuracy of the hygrometer is: • have 2 dehumidifiers in the house. One for up to 3 people and the other one for a house up to 5 rooms. I have 3 bedroom, a kitchen, dinning and living. Have them on all day and still can't get the hygrometer on the green from comfort zone, or lower then 63%. Also I put both of dehumidifiers in one room and humidity not lower then 60%. Now even the dehumidifiers don't work well, hygrometers either, or in my house is a lot of damp. With the dehumidifier on the one level on all day now hygrometer shows me 74%. Not being sure if it is the items fault or me not I will rate this half way so 3 stars.

This was very handy for use in a ground floor flat where it is not always security safe to leave the windows open. We had noticed some damp near a window due to condensation. This device gives us accurate readings to monitor air quality. It is easy to read and easy to assemble.

Works just as it should and does just what I wanted.

Simple, A recommander pour sa discrétion (petite taille) et son efficacité. Comparé avec un autre produit = fiable.

Nachdem wir Schimmel an einer Außenwand entdeckten, bestellte ich dieses Hygrometer, um zu überprüfen, ob der entsprechende Raum feucht ist. Das Gerät ist funktional und schlicht designt und hat eine schöne große Anzeige. Auch die Farbskala ist sowohl übersichtlich als auch optisch ansprechend. Das Hygrometer misst zuverlässig die - bei uns leider erhöhte - Luftfeuchtigkeit und passt die Anzeige sofort an, wenn gelüftet oder ein Entfeuchter verwendet wird. So können wir das Raumklima relativ gut unter Kontrolle halten und haben messbare Werte, mit denen die Feuchtigkeit in der Wand nachgewiesen werden kann.
